SPECIAL FEATURES
  • This looks and functions exactly like a bacta patch with the added functionality that it can be remotely activated to give the wearer a painful but non-lethal shock.
STRENGTHS
  • Heals: The EBP will, like any other bacta patch, heal its wearer over time
  • Shocks: By pressing a button on a remote or connected datapad, the EBP can be activated to give the wearer an electric shock for as long as the button is held in. Eventually, it might overheats, especially if the button is held in for longer than a few seconds. When overheated, it will feel warm to the touch. This does not end the healing effect.
  • Hard to detect: Advanced and well integrated with the other components of the bacta patch, the shock-giving properties of the item are very hard to detect, even after closer inspection by a professional.
WEAKNESSES
  • Limited range: Obviously, the patch will have to be attached to the wearer to be able to heal or shock them - but the person hoping to activate it remotely will also have to be within 40 meters of the patch.
  • Limited power: This device is not made to kill. When used in short bursts, it can be expected to cause enough pain to give a lasting sting and distract the wearer from what they are doing. If the shock functionality is used for an extended duration, it has been known to knock its wearer unconscious - this is very inconsistent, however, and also dependent on the wearer's constitution.
  • Easy to remove: The patch can just be removed, thus ending any effects it might have on the wearer immediately.
DESCRIPTION
The EBP was created for covert operations and subterfuge. It is limited in its usability since its application relies on being in immediate contact with the target. The double functionality helps in this regard as it can be applied on an unsuspecting target under the ruse of purely being meant to aid them in the recovery from a wound. For this purpose, the EBP serves its purpose well as it can be hard for the wearer to figure out that it is the source of their misfortune. If discovered, however, the EBP is easy to remove. For the most part, the user will have to rely on deduction to notice that it is the bacta patch that shocks them since the shock tends to be felt across the body - however, once overheated, or near overheating, the patch will be noticeably warm, making it easier to conclude that it is the culprit. A risk to the user is that, since they have to be within 40 meters of the wearer, they might expose themselves.

The shock itself is painful and causes most creatures to writhe in pain or, at the very least, flinch. If the wearer is particularly vulnerable, extended use of the shock functionality has the potential to knock them out - this, however, is highly unreliable.

OOC: I want to specify here that it should be very clear to whoever might be subject to wearing an EBP that it is in fact an EBP OOCly as to prevent autohits. Any deception should be purely IC.

Cool idea! The image source field is not working, I would like to ask you to add the image's link to the template (others usually put it under the picture). Thank you for your understanding.
