Tech Prodigy: Elly is skilled at dealing with most forms of electronics; she is a talented engineer and programmer, having created several AI as her "daughters."
Intellect: Elly's brain has always been her biggest weapon. Beyond her tech proficiency, she is a quick-thinking, capable strategist.
Cybernetics: A holographic keyboard emitter is embedded in her wrist, to be paired with a scanning visor (now defunct) and datapad for quick, on-the-fly data retrieval and submission. She also has a shock emitter in her left hand, as an emergency escape/submission technique.
Weaknesses:
Physical Strength (or lack thereof): Elly was never as physically fit as the rest of her family, and so is easily overpowered by raw strength. The shock emitter in her hand can be used to briefly stun foes, but it cannot come near to full compensation.
Showmanship: Elly has always had a tendency to lean towards the brash and gaudy, and could never resist a good opportunity to show off. This has gotten her in severe troubleat least once many times in the past.
Extreme Force Sensitivity: Elly suffers from a Force deficiency that prevents her from masking her presence in the Force without help from artificial means. Though she once managed this with various Force-blocking armours and technology, her only line of defense now is the crystal she wears on her necklace. Elly is also prone to uncontrolled outbursts of Force energy if her senses become overwhelmed, affecting and announcing herself to any nearby Force-sensitives.
Appearance: In contrast to her once-gaudy appearance, Eliana Shan has shed her technicolor pallet. She has her hair short, allowing her natural brunette colour to grow back in. She has bright blue eyes and a lightly freckled face, and typically dons plainsclothes. The only constant in her outfit is her necklace, on which is hung a small mechanical amulet of sorts, containing an orange crystal.
Biography: Eliana Shan is the younger of the Shan siblings, born to two Jedi on Dantooine. After a mad Sith orchestrated her parents' murder and her kidnapping, she spent many years training under him and seeking her brother, who she was led to believe was responsible for the killings. After their confrontation nearly took her brother's life, they parted ways: he to recover, she to try and make sense of herself. Before their reparations could commence, however, Elly was shot down over Mon Calamari, and presumed killed.
Until seven years later, when she resurfaced on Nar Shaddaa. She and her mad Sith master had received a warning of their imminent demises, and they both sought to avoid that through whatever means they saw fit. For Elly, this was accomplished by adopting a new identity as an information broker, Alena Karso. As Alena, she was able to keep tabs on anyone who would suspect her true identity, until such time as the warning they had received had expired. Alena, however, grew to enjoy her new life.. perhaps a little too much. When her cover was blown, it happened rather explosively, and her brother and several of her old friends were injured in the process. She and her Family were taken off to a Jedi Temple for healing and hearings. Continuing in their unfortunate series of events, however, was a Sith raid on the Temple that saw her brother Cao stolen away, not to be seen from again...
Wracked with guilt over the friends and lives she had damaged and lost, not to mention the time she had had stolen from her again and again, Elly left to the Unknown Regions to find herself. It seems now that she has found her way back to society, seeking to make amends and recover that which she has lost...
