STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES (Required: 2 Weaknesses Minimum) :

+Elliot has a keen eye for appraisal due to his career as a treasure hunter. This comes from his knowledge of different markets, leading to his ability to understand the value of different mechanical parts, devices and otherwise valuable items.

+Elliot is adamant about figuring something out, and as such is one to consider several possibilities and solutions to a problem or puzzle.

+While Force Sensitive, Elliot is still very capable with blasters and other basic weaponry.

+Elliot's Force Sensitivity has always manifested in the ability to feel the presence of others. He is still trained in a few basic techniques regarding the force.

-The Force Sensitive has a penchant for being a bit too curious for his own good, which can get him into more trouble than the curiosity is worth.

-Elliot is rather average in terms of physical strength. While this may not seem like a weakness among a group of average humans, it is certainly important in dangerous environments and against the many different, powerful beings in the universe.

-Elliot can be a bit of kleptomaniac at times due to his work in treasure hunting, which means he is not above stealing if he sees something of great value.

APPEARANCE:

Elliot Drake is an averagely-shaped human, standing at 5'9" with proportional limbs. While his muscles are tone, they are nothing special and his skin is consistently pale. Even with the planets he's traveled to, he has a hard time tanning in the many different suns. His clothing is usually rather low-profile as he wears darker colors. His most common outfit is his black jacket with a white tunic underneath and a black pair of long pants with black boots. This outfit is ideal for his expeditions which are frequently in darker places and contain creatures he'd rather be harder to be spotted by. Otherwise, he has rather plain features. A slender face with round ears and pointed nose. His hair is usually raggedy without much style. There are various scars adorning Elliot's hands from his expeditions as well as a long scar from a gash in his abdomen.

BIOGRAPHY:

The Force Sensitive boy was born into a rather poor community of bounty hunters, merchants both legal and illegal and treasure hunters on a rather large space outpost. The outpost he lived on, needless to say, was full of outlaws that made their stake there. Born into a family of merchants who frequently did what they could to cut corners and maximize their profit, Elliot was often neglected. This, in turn, caused him to explore on his own and learn many things not with the help of his parents but with the guidance of an acclaimed treasure hunter. The treasure hunter, Norman Drake, took Elliot under his wing and showed him the ways of the outpost. While Elliot hardly saw his parents, he looked up to Norman the most. So much so, Elliot took the surname of his mentor. Working on maintaining the inventory of Norman's shop, Elliot would often see his parents for a mere glance as they traveled throughout the space outpost. They would exchange looks, only grimace rather than words.

The early years of Elliot's childhood had revolved around that stock-keeping role, not allowed to journey with Norman as he would be more of a liability. Alone in the treasure hunter's shop, that was where Elliot would feel most odd. There was a mysterious aura that made him feel even when he was most alone. Noises of the outside would somehow still bleed in and it was like he was constantly aware of the denizens of the space outpost. Various treasures were organized and kept count of, but only one really stood out to the boy. A faded crystal that had a remnant of a glow. It connected to him somehow, but was kept in its own special container that Norman would only sometimes show him. Here and there, outlaws would attempt to get into the shop and take what they want. However, Norman always had one rule: ALWAYS keep the locks engaged. The doors were always shuttered, but that didn't stop outlaws from banging on them, knowing Elliot was there.

Eventually this harassment would culminate in a confrontation on Elliot's way home after finishing his stock-keeping. A group of outlaws would brandish their blasters, threatening to harm the boy's family had he not let them into the shop. Hesitant, Elliot knew it was his own life on the line rather than his neglectful parents. Taking them to Norman's shop, one outlaw kept him at gunpoint while the others roamed around. It was as if they were looking for something in particular, not simply stealing Norman's valuables. When they found the contained that sealed the crystal within, it had been clear to Elliot. The crystal had some sort of value that made it hard to sell but important to keep safe. As the outlaws were preparing to leave, whispers of having to "get rid of the boy" were overheard. In a sloppy motion, Elliot fought with his watcher, somehow getting a hold of the outlaw's blaster while they wrestled and firing off in his stomach. The others surrounded the boy, who at the moment seemingly knew where their blasters pointed without having to see them.

Rolling out of the way, Elliot saw the three remaining outlaws line up, and fired at the one that was seemingly their leader. Before he could fire on the others, Norman came bursting in with two blasters and took out the remaining outlaws. That night, Elliot stayed at Norman's and cried out of fear. He wouldn't talk about the sudden sixth sense regarding how he survived in the first place. But what would haunt him in the coming years was the two deaths that were forced upon him. Norman would take Elliot's safety and training into his own hands, teaching the boy how to properly fire and handle a blaster. The boy was seemingly a natural, but the concept wasn't difficult by any means. Elliot stayed more and more at Norman's residence as it had a few rooms for the treasure hunter's troupe. Eventually, the boy would be confronted by his parents.

Angry, they questioned why the boy hardly came home. Being honest, Elliot laid into them with how they neglected him and only cared for their business. Suddenly, bounty hunters came from the depths of the crowd that filled the halls of outpost, trying to capture Elliot. Again, his sixth sense had suddenly come into play. Their presence was duly noted, and he drew his blaster to fire and ward off the bounty hunters. Pointing it at his parents, he questioned their motive. They admitted to selling him off to pay for their debts, the bounty hunters closing in. Cuffing him, Elliot was nearly abducted before Norman intercepted and paid off the hunters to give him the means to purchase Elliot. So, Norman not only had Elliot move in but also fully adopted the child. His parents were never to be seen again, leaving the boy alone for good.

As Elliot nearly reached adulthood, Norman would hire someone else to maintain the stock while the pale boy was finally able to join the expeditions. There had been several smaller expeditions to nearby abandoned outposts and some planets, but there had been three major expeditions. First, Elliot was kept to the smaller ones to get him accustomed with potentially dangerous environments and the presence of other aspiring hunters. Not only did Norman combat hungry treasure hunters and the elements of where he explored, but also his own personal enemies and the bounty hunters they sent. As Elliot grew more accustomed and more seasoned, their first major expedition was to the moons of Yavin Prime. Norman was in search of old Massassi artifacts and possible ancient blueprints. The reason was unknown to Elliot, but he followed suit.

The main stop was on the jungle-adorned Yavin 4, exploring the ruins located within the thick of the forests and swamps of Yavin 4, Norman did not have the most fruitful journey. Elliot had questioned the point of the expedition there. Not aware of the history of the Massassi, Elliot wrote it off as finding value in the idea of being ancient. Norman would correct the boy, finding a scroll which he would secure in a tube. Norman would speak on the Massassi's role with the Sith, opening Elliot's eyes to a bit of what Norman was looking for. As this was explained, Sith Imperial forces had found their team, opening fire without hesitation. A gun fight ensued, the two forces facing off. Elliot and Norman were keen shots, but they had lost a couple of their people before retreating and being chased off by the growing Imperial soldiers. Escaping Yavin 4 by the neck of their teeth, they returned to their home where Norman would inspect the ancient blueprint on his own.

Elliot always found it odd that the man had kept the more ancient artifacts and findings to himself rather than sell, and suspected that if the Sith were involved, trouble would follow beyond the one confrontation. They waited until the assumed heat would die off before planning their next expedition. Elliot's growing curiosities would cause him to become more rebellious and question Norman's intentions, the two always at a stalemate. Still, they set off for the second great expedition. This time, Elliot and Norman would be on their own as they explored Corbos, infiltrating one of its Sith-owned mining installations. It was rich in valuable ores, but Norman wanted to explore what else the Sith wanted to find within the depths of Corbos. For months they worked and acted as part of the people, having Norman's troupe ready to pull them once they found whatever it was they were looking for. There, Elliot's rebelliousness would come to a head for the moment.

In a spat with one of the miners, his torso would be wounded greatly by mining equipment being used as weapons, forcing Norman's hand and jeopardizing their position there. As the miners became hostile once they realized the two were infiltrators, the Sith wards had gathered to execute them on the spot. Norman called upon the force, fending off the attacks with his own adept usage. Suddenly, his own orange lightsaber had become visible and he protected Elliot as best he could. The powers of the force he used were plain, controlled and held back. As the troupe arrived to give them back-up while Elliot bled, something kept him alive. The two escaped, again returning to their home where Elliot would argue and fight with Norman on what he had seen. Norman admitted that he was interested in gaining information on the Sith and their history as he believed it would help him understand his enemy more. Admitting to be a former Jedi, Norman told Elliot a brief story of his past and told the boy he knew of his force sensitivity.

Shocked, Elliot discarded Normans words and the two were distant for a while. Elliot went on his own small expeditions with the help of Norman's troupe, waiting to be called upon for the next big journey. Elliot wasn't sure if he would align himself with someone who could endanger his already fragile life. Unsure what to believe in regarding his connection to the force, the boy took his time to consider everything. When it came time to returning to Norman, the third expedition was mostly planned. The mentor had told Elliot that they were travelling to Dathomir. Norman would not describe the exact reason why he chose Dathomir, but again it was simply him and his pupil. The two camped out and survived off the elements of Dathomir. Anytime Elliot asked their purpose, Norman would simply give him the same vague answer: they were there to find something important.

Eventually, the boy would be fed up with the answer. Demanding some sort of directness, Norman finally gave him the truth. The two were dumped off in a Sith-ruled planet that was hardly explored, known to be filled with the dangerous Rancors. It was for Norman to teach Elliot how to survive on his own and to tap into the force. Elliot was combative at first, not receptive to the idea of accepting the Jedi's teachings. There, Norman gave Elliot his first lightsaber. It was a small shoto that had a yellow blade. Elliot refused at first, continuing to hunt and gather begrudgingly. Norman would not budge from his position, the two eventually stumbling across one of the many Rancor. Elliot would use his blaster to help give supportive fire while Norman displayed the wonderful powers of the force. As Norman fought, he spoke of the Jedi Code. There is no emotion, there is peace. Which Elliot would become frustrated with, feeling emotionally manipulated.

The battle went on, the mentor reciting more of the code. There is no ignorance, there is knowledge. Elliot saw his mentor struggle with the raging Rancor, using the force to halt the beast's movements. Elliot huffed, blasting at the beast's joints to help slow or disarm it. There is no passion, there is serenity. Norman could feel Elliot look within himself, feeling for the shoto he was given as the Rancor (who was likely a mature one) knocked the mentor away. There is no chaos, there is harmony. Norman struggled to stand, releasing a burst of energy that would make the Rancor stumble back. Slowly, Elliot put his blaster away as he continued to listen. There is no death. Elliot asked, then what?. Norman, pointing his open hand forward, lifted up the Rancor high into the air as it roared and struggled. There is the Force. Slamming it down, Norman mounted the Rancor and impaled its head with his lightsaber. Elliot watched in awe, pulling his own shoto from his waist.

Exclaiming that he was ready, Norman warned the boy that they would likely attract the attention of the Sith. Understanding, the two would continue their journey through Dathomir. The journey lasted for nearly a year, with several run-ins with patrolling Imperial Forces. Norman taught Elliot the basics of the force, admitting to being a former teacher before abandoning the Jedi he once stood side-by-side with. He wasn't keen on war and had his own personal quest on finding out more about the Sith. He wanted to understand them beyond the evil that they were. He also admitted that there was a warm, better side to the Sith that was more than what people saw. Passionate, loving people that rebelled against the abstinent and objective Jedi. Explaining his findings over the years and that the crystal within his lightsaber was a restored kyber crystal that was almost stolen, Norman had become a grey Jedi and followed his own path.

Imparting the teachings of the Jedi and his understanding of the Sith, Norman told Elliot that what was more important was to always follow his own path and use the Force for the good he believed in. Elliot took these words to heart, preparing to return home with the grey Jedi. As the troupe had appeared, they were ambushed by Sith Acolytes that were sent likely to complete some sort of trial and kill them. Elliot used what he had learned and helped Norman fight them off, the troupe brandishing their weapons and firing at the Acolytes. Against, Normans people would see casualties and even the Jedi and his student would find difficulty in combat. Some of the Acolytes were weak and were easily disarmed by Elliot and Norman, but others proved more promising for the Sith. When it came down to two versus two with the Troupe receding back into the ship, Elliot was blasted back by lightning onto the ship's platform. The troupe would pull him in for first aid under Norman's command, the Grey Jedi now fighting off both acolytes. Showing off his mastery of multiple forms, Norman was able to slay the acolyte that harmed his student, anger begetting his violence upon the acolytes.

The last acolyte dueled with Norman ferociously, using dirty tricks to disrupt the grey Jedi's movement and stunning him. Norman, taken aback, went to strike while unbalanced but ultimately had his primary arm severed by the acolyte's lightsaber. Going in for the kill, the acolyte was abruptly stopped as Norman used his other hand to completely slow their movement. His lightsaber floated in the air, soaring and impaling the acolyte. Taking his lightsaber as well as the acolyte's, he seared his arm a bit more to make sure the wound was closed before jumping onto the ship and returning to the space outpost. The acolyte's lightsaber was dissected and reassembled, the kyber crystal removed and the saber kept as a trophy. Norman and Elliot would lay low once more, focusing on Elliot's training over the force. Norman knew that had anybody on the outpost discovered who they were, the Sith would immediately rain hellfire upon them.

That was exactly what happened. Elliot, focused on his meditation and practicing what he could, would awake to find Norman missing. Seeing Imperial Forces make their presence known on the outpost, Elliot would seek the troupe and find where Norman might've gone. They would admit that he escaped for the fear of the giving away what the shop was a front for. None of them were recognized but the Grey jedi was. Leaving instructions for Elliot to continue his training and ignore the Sith presence, he maintained the shop. Over the course of the month, the Sith presence would become more threatening and eventually they would begin raiding merchants across the outpost. Once the neighboring shop was raided, Elliot would have enough of it. Brandishing his shoto and blaster, he would defend the shop from the Imperial units deployed to harass the outpost there. Although, it would soon be discovered to be a trap as more of the Sith's units had appeared and made themselves known. Trying to fend them off, the rest of Norman's troupe were executed helping Elliot and the boy was captured.

Angry, he demanded to know why they harassed the outpost. A Sith Inquisitor made himself known, Jeremiah Eris, who would reveal they were after long-standing enemy Norman Drake. Trying to find where he was, Elliot would admit that the troupe might've had information but they were killed. Torture not for his information but his retaliations, Jeremiah would make sure Elliot knew pain. When it became too much, Elliot demanded he be freed to no avail. Jeremiah would laugh at the boy, toying with his Shoto gifted by the grey Jedi. Jeremiah, bored of his torture of the boy, gave him the chance to earn his freedom. Duel the Inquisitor and be released onto a neutral planet or be executed. Elliot agreed, being met with a match beyond his own ability. Jeremiah would easily over-power the young Jedi and his shoto with a larger, powerful lightsaber accompanied by powerful form. Mocked, Elliot would feel the anger within boil. But he continued reciting the Jedi Code to keep himself calm and collected.

Jeremiah taunted the boy, speaking on how he met with his parents. Speaking on how useless Elliot was, so much so that he was almost sold to the Sith. The anger boiled still within Elliot's gut, the Inquisitor restricting his movements and attacks to be plain yet mighty. Only moving with purpose, Elliot could tell the Inquisitor wasn't much for a street fighter, something that was needed and natural in the boy's environment. Changing his formal movements to be more wild and unpredictable, the boy used the force to briefly stun and disarm the Inquisitor, stabbing his shoto into the taunting Sith's thigh. Yelling out in pain, Jeremiah attempted to catch the boy in a Force Choke. With a Push, Elliot countered the reaching hand of the Sith and removed his shoto from Jeremiah's thigh. Slashing up Jeremiahs chest, he was thrust away by Jeremiah. The anger of the to was apparent, the anger beget by the passion of the young boy. Imperial forces armed themselves and aimed at the boy, revealing the duel to be a ruse as the greatly-wounded Jeremiah ordered them to stand down. His pride being on the line, the Sith pushed forward. Releasing lightning from his fingers, Jeremiah aimed to slowly kill the boy. Elliot blocked the lightning with his Shoto, sending a ripple in the ground over to the Sith to take away his footing.

The lightning vanished and Jeremiah fell, the opportunity questioning the kind of Force User Elliot wanted to be. He wanted so badly to follow Norman's teachings, but in the moment where he felt PAIN and ABANDONMENT, he lifted Jeremiah into the air and squeezed his hand with the Force. Jeremiah felt the breath escape his lungs as the Imperial Forces readied to shoot down the boy. Suddenly, a burst of force would knock the Imperial units on both sides of the dueling area onto their feat. Elliot, in shock, would release his grip and the Sith Inquisitor would fall to the ground, enraged. Norman, coming from the distance with both his own lightsaber and the trophy he took from Dathomir would tell the boy to run. Noticing that people of the outpost were trying to escape, Elliot retreated to his former home, Norman's estate, where he would try to gather as many necessities as he possibly could as well as a robe to hide himself while Norman fought off the Imperial Forces and the wounded Inquisitor.

As Elliot was ready to leave on a ship, Jeremiah would show the captured Norman Drake. The remaining Imperial Forces would move to try to commandeer the ships, with Elliot's already departing. Motionless and watching Jeremiah yell out orders to find the boy, he watched Norman's execution. The ship escaped as the others were commandeered or shot down. Elliot's ship had sustained damages, but it still was able to find and enter the Feriae Junction. There, many of the merchants would find home while Elliot had to find a way off as soon as possible. The tradeworld was likely not going to be a safe haven for the Jedi. Especially with it being deep into Sith territory. He didn't want to be hunted by them, but he likely was. Especially if Jeremiah was heading the hunt, an Inquisitor for the Sith. For the moment, he would try to find his footing and the next available ship out of the tradeworld.

The Legacy of Drake

The Legacy of Drake will be a series of entries relating to the background and the ongoing stories of Elliot Drake. It will also include more on his master and adoptive father, Norman Drake.

The Tales Before
There is no emotion, there is peace.
There is no ignorance, there is knowledge.
There is no passion, there is serenity.
There is no chaos, there is harmony.
There is no death, there is the Force.

The Jedi Code was something Norman Drake lived by for many years. Once being a member of the Silver Jedi, the aged master had sworn himself to uphold the sworn oath he had taken. His training was dedicated to the life of the light side of the Force. Norman had trained many a student and had traveled across the galaxy incognito to breathe in the lands. However, the one despair of being a Jedi is that he could not share his heart nor let it be too strong. In most cases, that meant suppressing himself in a way that made him the loneliest he had ever been. A despair the often clawed at the back of his mind like a shroud of...darkness. Norman was a respected master for many years, but his faith in the Silver Jedi Order had wavered for a long time.

Waning with each passing day, Norman eventually retired from teaching and became more independent. He traveled and honed the art of the Force, eventually distancing himself from the Order far enough so that he could possibly settle down and start a family. With all the pain and loss he had already endured from the life of a monk, Norman had only wished to have a legacy to pass. This did happen, a happiness that lasted for a few years. He had found a wife on the peaceful lands of Lantillies, who was a starship mechanic. He couldn't get her to settle, so he joined her in the trade. While Norman wasn't the best mechanic, he had proven to be an excellent navigator and businessman. The Order quietly made an agreement with Norman for his retirement, but he was still a respected ally.

Still, the Jedi Master kept himself trained in the way of the Force. He hadn't shared this knowledge with his wife at the time due to him focusing on the life he was building on Lantillies and wherever they were needed. It was peaceful and lacked any peacocking that most had when entering such a business. But, Norman would find difficult in helping his wife bear a child. The Drake duo were nearly torn apart, and the darkness in the back of Norman's mind grew. That wouldn't be the last tragedy for him, as they would continue to run into obstructions in business. Unreliable brokers, untrustworthy suppliers, undeniably evil clientele. The dark side of mankind were the sum of the people who tried to deal business with them for the most part. Norman eventually was met with a dilemma: work for a cartel or lose his life and the future family he'd hope to have.

Norman had much resilience from his time with the Order, but he couldn't allow his wife to be threatened. Attacking those that threatened the two, Norman allowed darkness to taint his connection to the Force for a time. The attack didn't end the pressure, either. In fact, one of their newly-crafted starships had been destroyed upon sale. While they kept their credits, the duo had lost business from the client permanently. Norman, again, decided that it was enough. Again, he attacked the cartel's people, personally destroying one of their ships. The attack kept them silent for months, but then one of his darkest days passed. Norman returned home from working with a newly-attained client, finding his wife dead. A burning hole in her heart with a bounty hunter standing over the corpse with a smoking blaster pistol.

Enraged, Norman let the Force thicken around the hunter's throat, pressing until it became a suffocating shackle and lifting them into the air. In a fit of rage, Norman watch them try to beg and plea uselessly before succumbing to the dark side and watching the assailant die as slowly as possible. After that day, Norman struggled with resisting the darkness that tasted so sweet. Poisonous honey on his lips tempted him to give in even further, but there was only one way for him to survive it. On a sabbatical to purify himself and regain his wisdom and resilience, Norman found business hunting treasures with others. Not for the sake of stealing, but for the sake of protecting those who joined the honest expeditions. It had kept him inspired for many years and Norman had suppressed the Force from himself.

Norman traveled the galaxy, growing tired without a real goal until he found a piece of Sith history in the ruins of one of his expeditions. Knowing that the Order's greatest enemy was always the Sith, he made it his goal to understand them. A grasp for the glory days, Norman would build his own uniform for the treasure-hunting business. Eventually he would find home on a space outpost that was nearly considered a truly mobile trade world. There, he became respected and most of the outlaws let him be. However, upon arriving, he hadn't expected to finally be able to pass on his legacy. A young, raven-haired boy was often the subject of much bullying from the kids that also were born into poor situations. The parenting on the outpost was non-existent, but it wasn't Norman's responsibility to take care of any of them.

But the boy drew Norman to him. It wasn't the bullying, but it was the feeling that the boy radiated. Breaking from his personal vow to keep to himself, the senior Drake took Elliot under his wing. Elliot adored the Jedi, who protected and offered Elliot a job to keep him safe throughout the day. The boy accepted, and they held a fruitful relationship that wasn't too involved. Then the break-in happened, which was the result of a grudge from a former employee that gave up information on Norman's belongings. The man had found a dying kyber crystal that was apparently linked to a known Sith Lord of older times, but had since been lost to the test of time. Having been warned, Norman did his best to return as quickly as possible. It was then that he witnessed the boy break all normal perceptions. An inexperienced gunman, firing down a seasoned outlaw.

Saving the boy from the other two, he saw the connection that drew him to the boy. Elliot was a Force-sensitive child and needed to be trained. So Norman did train him to survive and hadn't introduced the world of the Force just yet. It needed to be at the right moment. As Elliot began joining Norman on smaller expeditions, he eventually was forced into a situation where Elliot's birth parents tried using his life as a product to make money. Having learned that they were going to sell him to the Sith Empire, more notably a noble family affiliated with them that would've likely let the Empire take the Force-sensitive, he knew he had to intervene. The family hadn't known of his abilities or potential, not like the nearly-elderly Norman had.

From there, Elliot would live with the Jedi Master and would be raised with a lot more care and learning than before. Elliot had done well on the many smaller expeditions, so Norman decided to allow the young pupil join the expedition to Yavin 4 in search of artifacts within old Massassi ruins.

The Yavin 4 Jungles were wild and grand, something that Elliot had taken a study to prior to the expedition with Norman. His mentor made it a well-known point to always use whatever bit of academic knowledge to one's advantage when orchestrating or attending a grand voyage. There, they would rely on their survival abilities. It would take a practice of survival not found on space stations or in poor communities. It was the wild, and the scale of their journey would test Elliot in ways he had not been tested before.

Still, the boy found himself excited. A young adventurer, not even an adult, preparing for his travels. It was fresh and new. It was, at the time, an innocent journey. Yavin 4 was a wild place with likely beautiful views and enticing, untamed dangers within. Who wouldn't want to join the senior Drake on such an adventure? What they were looking for was claimed to be Massassi artifacts for Norman to collect, but the intention would run much deeper than that. Elliot wouldn't question it too deeply, as the thought of seeing such wonder filled every crevice of his mind that could otherwise invite doubt and suspicion.

Norman wanted to learn more about the Sith and the dark Empire that would keep their version of the Dark Side alive. Not the version that questioned the perfect of the Silver Jedi Order, not the presence of misguided emotion but the intentional evil that the Empire became. Norman made sure that everyone was armed, and on his own he would take a gander at the cylinder that carried the rare gem known as a kyber crystal. Tempted to arm himself with it, he reached and felt the force radiate from it.

No, he was no more than a scholar who had his own collection and brokered the rare goods he found. This journey wasn't for some vendetta to keep the memory of his wife alive. it was for his business and reputation as Norman Drake, Treasure Hunter Extraordinaire. Drake Treasures was going to be a respected business, and the map of expeditions he had planned out...they certainly would cast doubt into Elliot's mind had he seen it. A list of planets to visit that contained possibly highly valuable pieces of Sith lore.

As the two and the rest of Norman's crew prepared, Norman would isolate himself in his quarters of the ship prepared for them. There, he would meditate and toy with his now-weakened connection to the force. He hadn't truly embraced it in such a long time, but something about Elliot encouraged it. It was likely the boy's force-sensitivity that made Norman take him under his wing. Norman ignored that force-sensitivity, but still wanted to keep Elliot safe. Especially if the Empire had learned of a new force-sensitive they could enslave into darkness. A consuming darkness that would lead him astray...into a path of Chaos rather than Wonder.

When they departed, Elliot couldn't help but ask Norman many bright questions. Initially, it was to confirm whatever academic knowledge he would accrue to learn of Massassi and his own role in the expedition. He was to be a respected vassal and direct hand to Norman, and the rest of the crew were to be the muscle that both protected and fought for them. The boy merely had a pistol, but being a crack-shot with it made it easy for him to be a force to be reckoned with. Norman let his lightsaber remain at his home on their space station, arming himself with a rather unique pistol himself.

Upon arriving on Yavin 4, the crew were greeted with the normal wilds. Norman had three of them establish a perimeter of safety around the ship while the rest joined for the expedition. As they would venture deep into the jungles, Norman would map out their trails and the general cartographic appearance of the area they explored. They would explore the thick vegetation of the jungle. While they would have their standard encounters with its wildlife, it would be nothing out of the ordinary.

For a while, the expedition seemed fruitless. Eventually, with morale fizzling and being at an all-time low, Norman would stumble upon the Massassi ruins. A perfect discovery for the hearts of those accompanying them. Half of the crew remained while the other half stayed to create a path from the ship to where they were. Each encampment was miles apart, totaling three aside the main encampment at the ship. Six crew members remained aside Norman and Elliot as they discovered the tribal ruins.

It amazed Elliot and filled Norman with determined inspiration. Norman searched wildly, as if he had not expected to find such a structure that still remained, albeit covered by the vines of nature.
