Special Features
Strengths
Multi-Target Tracking - ELOWS come equipped with multi-target tracking, allowing it to fire against a target and immediately move on to the next with no extra processing
Infinite Ammo - L-Series ELOWS use high-power batteries that are perpetually charged by its host-vessel's Reactor
High Rotation Speed - Plenty of Oil and advanced axis systems allow ELOWS to navigate quickly, keeping up with several incoming threats
Last-Stand - Being powered by Batteries, if the host-vessel's Reactor is destroyed, L-series ELOWS will continue to operate for another few minutes
Weaknesses
EMP/ION - ELOWS are vulnerable to Electrical and Ionic interference
Light-Armour - ELOWS contain a lot of dedicated weapons systems and so the Chassis is more for Aesthetic than actual armoured functionality.
Description
ELOWS, or Enemy Launched Ordnance Weapons Systems, are advanced, high speed emplacements that track and destroy incoming missiles, torpedoes, aircraft etc. The L-Series, or Laser Series, are a series of ELOWS designed to protect a host-vessel from faster objects such as Missiles and Torpedoes.
The MK1-L1 is a rapid, powerful, kyber-powered Laser system that targets and blasts incoming objects with short bursts of intense heat. This melts warheads immediately and either destroys the payload inside or, in the case of a proton torpedo, releases the payload into space. The L1 is powered by a battery that is constantly charged by its host-vessel's reactor, giving it infinite ammo but also allowing it a 'Last-Stand- in which it can continue to defend its vessel for a few minutes after the vessel has been deactivated or critically damaged.
