- Value: An Elysium Credit is worth 500 Standard credits, making it a valuable currency
- True Value: The more expensive Elysium Credits contain rare metals, such as Chromium, meaning they will always hold some value regardless of inflation.
- New: The Elysium Credits are new, meaning they are not easy to replicate because they aren't widespread, like standard credits
- Uncommon: The Elysium Empire is small, and Elysium Credits are rare. Until The Elysium Empire controls territory, Elysium Credits won't be accepted anywhere.
- Transfer: Elysium Credits replace Standard Credits, meaning the standardization of Elysium Credits will take time as they must be minted and exchanged.
The Elysium Empire was in a dire need of funds. To solve this issue, Heath Valhoun proposed a new currency to replace Galactic credits...which have lost a significant amount of value over the years. The new currency was named Elysium credits, following the status quo of naming currencies by the faction (Ie. Imperial credits, Republic credits). Elysium Credits are made with a variety of metals depending on the value of the credit, from durasteel to chromium, ensuring they always hold some value. Elysium credits are worth 500 standard credits, and are currently only used in The Elysium Empire, though the Empire plans to make it a galactic currency.
The creation of Elysium Credits forced any Elysium citizens to exchange their credits for the new Elysium credits. In doing so, The Elysium Empire was able to fill the treasury with Galactic credits. This huge increase in funds will allow The Elysium Empire to purchase from the galaxy, while its' own citizens can trade amongst themselves with the new currency.
When a planet falls to the Elysium Empire, it will be given a year-long deadline to adopt Elysium Credits in order to avoid a sudden change and economic crash. Furthermore, The Elysium Empire has a hybrid economy that still allows Standard Credits for all things except Government purposes. In short, the new currency is not a requirement, but licenses, bails, and government interactions will require Elysium credits to be used.
Elysium credits can be distinguished by their purple and blue tint, and the images found on specific coins.
