APPEARANCE:
She often wears her royal clothing that is similar to Egyptian robes that expose enough skin to adsorb the needed radiation to survive. Will let her hair hang down and has small streak of violet across her face, a skin pattern that sometimes appears on Meldarians.
BIOGRAPHY:
During the time of the Meldarian dominance of their planet Leeza’s family were but simple technicians, helping to keep all manner of important technology, mainly the solar radiation containment units that helped keep stores of needed ultraviolet light for the people’s food supplies. But when Leeza was five her mother had died in an accident when one of the units leaked and eventually exploded. Since then her father had wanted his daughter to have nothing to do with being involved around technology again.
Given her father’s wishes Leez perused life in politics, eventually reaching the ranks of one of the leaders of her region after uncovering a scandal by the former leader. He had wanted to militarize a number of the robotic servants that the Meldarians had and reprogram into war machines in an attempt to overthrow the council. She was praised for her work but the mystery of how the leader had managed as much pull as he did remained unsolved.
Over the years Leeza proved herself a valuable leader to her people and helping with some of the major issues brought up during the Council meetings; even taking some self-defense classes after nearly being killed during her investigation.
When the news came of the nearby sun reaching a critical nova, plans were made by the council to begin construction of the underground facilities to save the people of Meldara. However Leeza and a few others began to see that the progression was slowed for some reason. More investigation revealed that the robots working on the facility were altered by none other than the Emperor of Meldara himself. It was revealed that he was the one who worked with the former leader to try and overthrow the council years ago, attempting to make a one ruling monarchy over the entire planet for himself. And now, with the nova coming, he wanted to save those he deemed worthy while leaving the rest to burn.
In an ensuing struggle to take him from the thrown the Emperor killed three of the council leaders before being slain by Leeza herself. With little options and time left Leeza was now appointed the Empress of Meldara and put all efforts into finishing the underground constructs. But it was revealed that calculations given about the nova’s time of arrival was altered by the Emperor, it was coming much sooner than they thought.
Only one facility was created and only 2,000 people, including the remaining council members, were saved. With the destruction of the surface of their home planet the Meldarians did not know what to do. It finally came down to Leeza deciding they would be in suspended animation while being tended to by the robot servants available. They were to be woken when then planet’s surface was free of radiation.
10,000 years passed before Leeza and her people were reawakened by the Republic. Now she works with the Republic to help bring her people back into the galaxy and restore their culture.
