Zeradias Mant

Democracy Dies in Darkness
"We, together, will once more make Coruscant the bastion of civilization it has been for millennia!", Zeradias spoke to the crowd. He did not often raise his voice, but he permitted himself to speak louder to rouse enthusiasm among his base of support. Hundreds of thousands were in attendance of his swearing in ceremony, hosted at the Central District's own spaceport. The location had been strategically chosen, one that stood as not only a monument of Coruscanti importance to itself and the galaxy, but also as a symbol of the working man. Custodians, security personnel, support staff, and ship crews, all among the middle class which Zeradias looked to build the foundation of his supporters for Coruscant First. A new political power and rapidly rising party in Coruscanti politics, its growth seemed exponential, and this was only the start.

As the crowd continued to applaud, Zeradias stepped down from the podium in which he spoke. While he now held the office of the Executive of the Central District, this was only the start of his rise in Coruscant, as was it the party's. He'd garnered a base of not just normal supporters, but more radical ones as well. He didn't pander to them, nor did he enable them, but he never completely condemned them either. They were fools, but they'd likely be of use in the future. While they all cheered for the party' success, it was not Mant's time to plan it. It was a time to celebrate, too, but also to plot. With his closest base of supporters, they assembled at a local tavern.

"We need to build a wall!"

"The Mayor isn't even Coruscanti, he's from Arkania!"

"We need to bring Coruscant into the light."

His advisors all shouted ideas as to what they could do to further their agenda, as well as what to do with their now official power. Zeradias knew their hearts were in the right place, but the ideas were all radical, if not overly vague or outright impossible.

"Arcann, you're quiet.", Zeradias remarked. He spoke at his normal, quiet tone. When he spoke though, silence followed. "What do you think the party should put on the immediate agenda?"

Arcann's pub was the fullest he had ever seen it. Loudest as well. People were excited. Vigorous. Full of hope for change. A change they saw in Zeradias Mant and Arcann Law. With the rise of Zeradias as the Executive of the Central District of Coruscant the spirit was higher than he'd ever witnessed it in his entire life here.

The winds of change were blowing.

He turned his head to the man as the rest of the advisors' muted themselves. Law titled his head before answering calmly. "The formation of a paramilitary." He was direct. No implications. Straight to the point. "An armed wing to protect the people of Coruscant."

"And a leverage on the negotiating table when the time arrives." The demagogue added and asked the same question to Mant. "What is are your thoughts on immediate future?"

Zeradias Mant

Democracy Dies in Darkness
A bold strategy right off the bat. Zeradias let off a sly grin, visible to only those who knew the man well enough to know his smiles were nigh invisible. With a nod, Zeradias gave his approval. "I leave that to you, Arcann.", he said. "Vesuvian will supply you with any resources needed."

Less expectedly, Arcann asked Zeradias of his thoughts on the immediate future. Patience would have told the man that the answer was coming, but it was never his strong suit. Zeradias was the schemer, planning far in advance for the long term.

"A governing document. A guiding principle. An invisible hand.", Zeradias started, almost cryptically. "A manifesto of party ideals to guide both our actions and our followers'."

Sentimental to be sure, but essential for the future of the party as well as the broadcasting of its ideals. Coruscant First was not looking to be a humanocentric party, pervasive in persecution of alien races. It was a party for all races, all genders, and all people - all people of Coruscant. In order for that to happen though, action from the Galactic City Common Council was necessary. Fortunately, Zeradias' newly elected position granted him official powers in that body, and his party's rising prominence increased the weight of his opinion. Those on the GCCC smart enough to recognize the changing tides would adapt and change with them. Those that fail to do so would drown.
