- Highly durable casing is even capable of minor self-repair, due to laminanium used in the design, and is able to withstand a great deal of punishment before risking the brain itself to become compromised or at risk of being damaged.
- Incredibly-powerful optical computer processor core is capable of heuristic functionality and terrific computational speeds, logic and reasoning, and even abstract and creative analysis while being virtually immune to EMP/Ion damage.

- Laminanium-based self-repair capabilities do not extend to the contents of the casing of this droid brain, only to the casing itself, and cannot repair significant damage and/or cannot heal fast enough against prolonged or relentless attacks, meaning that such damage can overwhelm this ability and render the droid brain itself vulnerable to damage.
- Requires a powerful and functioning cooling system to compensate for heat generated by such potent processors, and if droid’s cooling systems are insufficient or damaged, droid brain may not function properly and cause it to become sluggish, incoherent, erratic, or otherwise disabled.
- Although immune to EMP/Ion due to the nature of fiber optics and optical computing, the brain is actually quite vulnerable to other types of damage and without its casing quickly falls to risk of becoming disabled, damaged, or even destroyed.
DESCRIPTION:
The Encephalon-34 was conceived to be one of the most advanced droid brains ever constructed, meant to endow a limited number of droids with degrees of autonomy, intellect, and self-awareness only experienced by very few artificial lifeforms in galactic history. To accomplish this, a fiber-optic cortex was created, with an almost inexhaustible memory capacity and processing power coupled with heuristic capabilities far beyond normal, enabling droids using this brain to wield an almost-unparalleled intellect. Probability processing and immense capacity for calculations allow the E-34 to analyze, interpret, and predict future events with eerily accurate odds, and then to creatively assess and account for those predictions, even adjusting the outcome to its advantage.
This extraordinary intellect was then paired to sophisticated personality and behavior circuitry matrices, heuristic learning, and sentience programming, granting droids a profound measure of independence, self-awareness, and personality. This is made all the more pronounced with sensory management circuitry and replicated emotive conduct, giving droids a ‘lifelike’ quality just not found in most droids. Together, these factors produce some of the galaxy’s most faithful and naturalistic mechanicals, almost indistinguishable from their biological counterparts, save to say that their memory capacity, analytical speeds, and propensity for veritable pre-cognitive accuracy places them on par with or even exceeds Force-using biologicals’ own.
The incredibly tough protective casing offers considerable resilience against damage, though certainly not impervious to it. Excessive or continued punishment will eventually compromise this casing, overwhelming the limited self-healing capabilities of its laminanium coating, and expose the droid brain to possible injury or incapacitation. This is because the droid brain itself, while immune to EMP/Ion damage due to the nature of fiber-optics and optical computing, is not well protected against other forms of damage, including thermal, kinetic, etc. Without its casing, the brain’s vulnerabilities become almost instantly exploitable. This is also a consideration when considering the cooling requirements for so powerful a processor, and any droid whose cooling system is insufficient or might somehow become damaged or compromised may see the E-34 within it become vulnerable and possibly even disabled.
