In the city of Coronet in a small tavern at the edge of the city sat a young woman waiting patiently watching the room carefully. Siara waited for her former employer, she knew he came here frequently, or so one of his goons revealed earlier in the day after she had ambushed him in an alley on the other end of the city. She sipped on a drink quietly as she watched intently for the heavyset sweaty old man who had betrayed her by selling out to a local crime lord and revealing the location of a stash of smuggled goods they had been hired to protect. She didn’t blame the crime lord, he was just competing in a tough market that forced him to resort to tactics like bribery to be competitive and he hadn’t betrayed her. She was certain at some point someone would deal with him, eventually everyone got their due, besides at some point she may want to work for him. The man that had sold them out required her full attention.
Peering over her glass Siara spotted him, he looked like it took effort just to exist, he was sweating profusely and it wasn’t particularly warm outside and the air inside was cool and fresh. He was breathing heavily as he crossed the room surrounded an escort of goons most of them armed to the teeth. Clearly this wouldn’t be the time or the place, but it did give her the opportunity to evaluate her prey. She had never met him face to face, their only communications together in the past taking place via communicator or holocom.
Getting up from her seat to get a better vantage point Siara stopped by the bar placing her glass on it. She took a seat at the bar in the seat nearest to the big man’s table. She didn’t look directly at him but kept him in her peripheral view straining to listen to the conversation he was having with the man he was meeting here. From what she could hear he was plotting a new betrayal, this time the crime lord who had paid him to reveal the location of the storehouse. She regretted ever signing on with this man, he obviously had no issue selling out to whatever bidder came by to earn a quick buck. He would pay soon enough, she would see to it.
