Enjoyable Good Time?

Menka docked at one of the space stations over Mon Calamari, the place suggested for her and her... potential new friend? To meet. Traveling through space was always fun to her since she hadn't explored everything just yet, and she was still curious to see the sights of the galaxy. Although... you could never convince her it was the safest thing to do... ever. But, in either case, she needed to grow her company, and sitting around tinkering with her toys wasn't going to do that....

She awaited by the registration desk where she signed in her ship, and hopefully awaited the man she was supposed to meet. With her skin so vibrant, and the rumors of the man, she didn't think it'd be hard for him to find her.

It did have to be mentioned that whilst Nantaris had a fairly earned reputation as a lekku lover it didn’t cause him to lose all reason and sense. Not usually anyway!

“Boss, your visitor is here,” one of the Rangers called, having relayed the call from station security.
“Get her to meeting room three please. I’ll be there in a moment.”
Nantaris had actually been doing work. Paperwork was something he rather hated, but unfortunately was good at as well. He had been trying to decide why Myr, his Twi’lek pilot, needed three weeks off. Putting the leave form aside he rose and headed from the room.

With his somewhat rickety protocol droid D-43 following him, he entered the meeting room where presumably Menka was waiting.
“Apologies for the delay, Ms Guga. Please, take a seat and begin your proposal whenever you are ready.”
D-43 stood behind him like an old butler, occasionally tottering.

Menka had been escorted to a meeting room where she waited. Usually, she had an escort of droids to protect her, but with her recent company expansions, she should also show some sort of confidence... besides, she wasn't being hunted by a bounty hunter anymore, so that was a big help. But without her droids, she was excessively bored, since she would usually tease and mess around with them when she would idle. But she was patient, so even though she was nervous, she thought the Rangers were a good sort, so she kept calm even though alone.

When the man walked in with his droid, she immediately rose and smiled, thinking it was the best greeting she could give. In hearing his greeting, she sat back down and looked at him with an almost blank face, before realizing why she was here. Her head was kind of everywhere at the moment, "Hello! You're the... leader of the Rangers right? I know your group is a little on the small side, but my company is probably smaller! Heh heh... but oh, um, I mean... we still make good stuff. It's all hand made by me, heh heh..." She tried fixing her statement, realizing how bad that sounded. "Not like I can blame an employee for bad manufacturing, so in return for a bad product I send another, no charge! But uh, eh that's the guarantee... I haven't had any reports of my products really being bad. I don't exactly sell prototypes, takes me a few tries with something before I put it on the market... so, hello, anyway. I'm Menka! Sorry for being a little odd, I'm horrible at this stuff. I was looking to grow my company, and I really liked the idea of the Rangers... I was hoping I could maybe set up a shop nearby for you guys... and maybe make something for your outfit."

Nantaris raised an eyebrow as the red twi’lek launched into a slightly rambling explanation. At the end of it he coughed to hide a slight chuckle.
“I see. Well, Menka, it’s nice to meet you. I’m glad that you like our goals and plans. We are trying to make a difference. As for your company, I would be happy to allow you to create a store. If you were to provide me with a list of what products you can make I would be happy to look through it and order anything which we feel is needed. We can also provide payment in either Coalition Credits or precious metals.”

Menka nodded a few times in agreement, before reaching into her back pocket for something of a... mini catalog, of everything she is currently selling. Only one was printed... for this occasion... "Everything I'm selling is right there... what's not on there is... right now I'm in the testing phase of another, standard era grade Astromech, and next I've got blueprints for an astromech that is above standard era grade. My true expertise is really in alything that flies in space... I'm great with spaceships... I haven't dabbled in airspeeders, but I'm sure it wouldn't be hard! But since it's expensive and hard to build drydocks and shipyards... I can't really make ships right now, I will soon, though! Right now, I'm dabbling in droids, they are so fun!"

“Well, let’s not get ahead of ourselves,” Nantaris said with a smile, “but if things go well I might be able to help with shipyards. Still, give me a moment to browse this,” he added.

A quick review of the catalogue pointed out some items of interest.
“What’s the prices for the UUD-1 and the SPD-Light? I would be interested in trying a couple of them and seeing. I was also wondering if you might be able to construct a custom astromech unit?”

Menka nodded and watched the man as he continued reading, making sure she was quiet and attentive until he spoke up. "Oh, well, that depends on how many you want and what you want to use to pay. If you got the materials i could make them almost free with a little credit charge for the labor. If you buy multiple, it's a lot easier to make the little factory crank many out automatically instead of just turning it on for a single droid. It's a small factory on my ship, and it takes awhile for single orders. But credit wise... About 800 credits per droid, the backpack module alone is 300 credits because it can make droids into battle droids! Together, in a deal, it can be a straight 1,000 credits per UUD droid with a backpack. And the little security probe? He's little, he's fragile, but he's feisty and doesn't take no poodoo! He's a hero in the droid field and doesn't shy away from criminals! Running in with a zap quickly enough, or sneaking up on someone unsuspecting is what he does. Which is why he's priced at... 1,200 credits, especially with the fact his weapons can be changed with any astromech weapon and take on the duties of any other probe droid, and some light duty's of security and scouting. And uh, we could see about an astromech... I'm not good with astromech designs. Every time I try making one, it comes out like a blocky box... Unless you had something in mind?"

The girl was certainly enthusiastic, and as she described her stock Nantaris smiled a little as she went on.
“Having disposed of many a battle droid before, both in training and in ancient Clone Wars sites, I’m not too worried about them rising up. We’ll take say six of them with the backpacks and a couple of the drones. They should make good observation platforms.”

“As for astromechs, I have a busted unit which I was hoping you might be able to repair. Can you do that and make him more…well…reliable?”

(Darn site! Thank goodness I double checked my notifications, I'm so sorry!)

Menka nodded with a cute smile, "Yeah, definitely! I have some droids onboard my ship in orbit right now I could drop off to you in their convenient packed-up state! The protocol droids I have to make, they are a little on the special side, but they shouldn't take too long -- promise! And you... got a busted astromech? Oh goodness, lemme see him! I've repaired old and new technology many times, throw me a spanner and I'll crank his bolts" she giggled

Nantaris turned to D-43. “Get them to bring in R6.”
“Yes, oh most rewarding one,” the droid said, hobbling away.

Now alone, Nantaris turned back to the Twi’lek. “They’ll bring him in now. So…how’s business been for you? Been doing this long?” he asked with a smile.

He was Nantaris after all, and it would be only polite to discuss some things with Menka as they waited….

Menka watched as the gentleman gave the order to get astromech, taking a breath as she relaxed, becoming patient until the man spoke up to her again and she became alert, looking straight at him. She shook her head slowly, "Oh, no, not really.... nearly a couple standard years. My tricks and trade were used in other areas, I couldn't really work my hands where I wanted." An inside joke of her own, she huffed a half-giggle, shrugging.

“I’m glad to hear that. Well, as you may have heard I am always most interested in finding beings of great talent and skill. And if they prove up to the challenge I’m happy to employ them too.”

“Can I get you a drink?” Nantaris asked, going to a cabinet and revealing a hidden bar.

[member="Valiens Nantaris"]

Menka blinked a few times as she was wondering what might be going. Handy with mechanical, not too bright otherwise. "U-uh, I don't drink cantina drinks, it does havoc on my body. Fruity, non alcohols, I love though..."

[member="Menka Guga"]
“A wise policy, Miss Guga. Alcohol impairs the mind and body,” he opined, but poured himself a fire-water anyway!

Producing a glass of Saanberry juice he handed it to her. “Try this, it’s from the now destroyed world of Kaeshana. Fortunately, they saved some of the trees before the catastrophe.”

Menka was very happy to accept a non-alcoholic drink, but as she went to sip it, she realized the words the man said, and they struck her in her core. She had drank a little of the drink, which tasted like juice, but it went down the wrong type and she coughed, trying to clear her throat. "Oh, I am so sorry... the drink is good... but what you said caught me a little off guard... sorry..." She was upset, hearing another planets decimation.

Nantaris gave her a pat on the back to help her choking. Didn’t touch the lekku though, no sir. Maybe later!

“Yes, it was a terrible time,” Nantaris said, feeling bad for being so flippant. “I helped evacuate people from Kaeshana before the disaster. Terrible. Still, we got out a lot of the population, and even more afterwards.”

He took a drink of his rather more potent brew and smiled. He was probably about to being stage two of the seduction process when the door opened. With typically annoying timing D-43 entered with the broken astromech on a hover-sled.

“I return, oh most beatific master. I trust I am not disturbing anything?”

Inwardly cursing, Nantaris stepped away from Menka. “This is the astromech I was telling you about. He got an ion bolt, so some of the components are fried. Is there anything you can do?”

[member="Valiens Nantaris"]

Menka gave a chuckle from how Mr Nantaris was looking as the droid walked in, keeping it internal and quiet. Then she heard what happened to the droid, and her mechanical loving side kicked in...

"Just an ion bolt? Psssh... I have tons of astromech parts I've cleaned up and refitted. This isn't a problem at all. Oh and... Now that I think about it mister Nantaris, I do have my own schematic for an astromech. I haven't been able to properly finish it to put it into demo mode yet, so I've had it in secret. If you could fund me with military or better hardware or software, I could integrate it to make the astro above galactic standard. It's a very new design, and you know how those go. Also, it's much smaller than a R2 astro."

Deciding to put the best spin on things, Nantaris nodded.
“Sounds great! If you want to come back to our facility you can pick and choose all the bits you want. I’m sure you’ll have the little guy up and going in no time! Hopefully he’ll be a bit more polite than D-43….”
“Oh great and noble Master, the unkind things you say of me. I exist only to serve!”

[member="Valiens Nantaris"]

Menka clasped her hands together and nodded with a smile, "Awesome! Although, I will have to have an extensive checking on its system, I don't know if the memory is damaged." She stood up, slowly walking over to the gentleman and extending her hand, "Sounds like a deal!"

Nantaris shook the offered hand warmly, smiled.
“Very well, come with me.”

He led Menka back to his ship, and once aboard to a workroom near the main storage hold. As they entered some of the crew gave Nantaris a wink or a knowing look. He coughed and ignored the whispered comments.

“Have a look through and see if you have everything. Anything specific we can get ordered in for you. You should have all the droid assembly tools you require there on the bench. Any questions?”
