Enter the Exodus

Denon. A massive ecumenopolis world located at the junction of the Corellian Run and Hydian Way intergalactic trade routes. It is a perfect world for an up-and-coming arms company to put down roots.

Debbis Endo, CEO and chairman of the board for Obsidian Star Technologies, stands in front of the large bay window of his office located near the top of Obsidian Star's headquarters. He sips on a glass of fine Alderaanian brandy and puffs on a hand-rolled cigar from Wroona while looking out on the endless sea of buildings.

In what will likely be his only moment of quiet today, he muses upon his life.

Up until recently, Endo had been the true owner of Obsidian Star. He'd also very nearly run the corporation into the ground, been indicted for fraud, and almost become a patsy for an interstellar crime cartel. Today, Obsidian Star was on the rise with a new line of products. Cash flow, while not spectacular, was increasing and he'd been able to purchase a not-guilty verdict on his fraud case. He was a patsy, however, and the Denon businessman knew it. Instead of an interstellar crime cartel, he owed his life and everything in it to a psychotic Lorrdian hit-man named Beltran Rarr: The true owner of Obsidian Star.

At least, for today, Rarr was on the other side of the galaxy dealing with his Silver Jedi allies. Though how a group of do-gooders like the Jedi allowed a man like Rarr into their ranks, he had no idea.

*BUZZ!* "Excuse me, Mister Endo? Your morning appointment has arrived."

The monotone voice of his reception droid shook Endo out of his reverie. It was time to get down to business. His first appointment of the day, a representative from the Exodus Mercenary Company was here. If all went well, he would be signing one of several contracts he hoped would allow him to expand Obsidian Star beyond Denon and into the galaxy at large.

Turning back to his desk, he leaned over and keyed the comlink installed in the fine Worshyr wood from which it was made. "Please send them in."

When the door opened a moment later, he would smile brightly at whoever was behind it and approach, offering his hand in greeting. "Hello! Hello! I'm so glad you could make it. Please come in and take a seat, we have much to discuss!"

@Kaira Eyeris

Kaira entered the office as the man greeted them. It was strange, being in this position. She'd lead people before, her squad of clan mates before the fleet broke up. But this was the first time she held any kind of actual authority. Exodus was still small, with just a handful of ships in their own flotilla, but they were growing. And that meant they needed more resources coming in. As their intel team tried tracking down possible raiding targets, it was up to her to actually secure paying work, and when she'd heard Debbis Endo, owner of a rather large corporation known as Obsidian Star Technologies, wanted to hire them, she was hard pressed to refuse the chance to see for herself what they had to offer.

Still, she wasn't exactly a master negotiator. She was a warrior. That was where her primary skills lied. So, she was accompanied by two other members of Exodus, each with different necessary traits. [member=Alaric] looked somewhat dingy in his beat up Mandalorian armor. But, scuttlebutt said that he was also one of the best swordsmen in the outfit, which meant he'd be handy to have if things went south. On the other hand, [member="Lily Kuhn"] was something of a mystery to Kaira. She had heard she owned and operated her own company somewhere in the Deep Core. While this brought up several questions as to why she decided to join up with their outfit, it did make her an ideal resource for the negotiations.

"It seems that we do, Mr. Endo." She took a seat in front of his opulent desk. Outside the entire planet seemed to stretch before them. It was an idiotic design choice if you wanted to defend yourself from intruders, but she couldn't deny that the effect was impressive."I was told that you're interested in hiring us?"

Dingy might describe Alaric, but the dinge was almost on purpose. His armor had carbon scoring, paint scorched and peeled. But there was undeniable care put into every plate and piece, any keen eye could tell. Standard commando plates of durasteel had finally been fitted fully to him, and a pair of ripper pistols sat strapped one to each thigh. Two short swords, single-edged and subtly curved, sat in baldrics put just at his ribs in a harness that held a small, careworn leather case right across the chest, with a cylindrical shape to it. His right hand gripped a bevii'ragir tightly, tipped in beskar, and thrust into the girthbelt in the back were two hand-axe like weapons of mythosaur bone, both axes bonafide relics of the Crusades found on Kuar during his time there.

The blue and green warrior trotted in, hot on the heels of Kaira, and immediately his head went on a swivel. Still new to anything beyond the pits, his time with [member="Cato Fett"] had been well done. According to the other, his instincts were superb and growing better. The scales they had collected together were being processed, hopefully he would have armor of his own soon. Exits were evaluated, weak points, and he took a spot between Kaira and the window, off to her left, facing the window and their host. The move was in no way threatening, and he nodded once to her in his helmeted visage, waiting.

Once introduced, he'd debate taking the helmet off. Maybe.

Ten years ago, under slightly different circumstances, a more naive redhead would have been standing in Lily's place. A younger Kuhn, an eager young woman, with everything to prove and nothing to lose. But ten years had worn hard on that veneer, no matter how hard she'd struggled to keep that carefree attitude about herself, and now she was almost bitter - her expression stern, her gaze piercing, icy. She contrasted from the two that belonged to the mercenary jacket in many ways, not the least of which in how she was dressed. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Mister Endo." Lily said, cultivating a smile that shifted her demeanor entirely, as she walked into the room. She took her seat, dressed as any rich socialite with their focus on business might, and cast a momentary glance at [member="Alaric"] and [member="Kaira Eyeris"].

Unlike her two companions, who, to her, seemed like little more than the sort of thugs she'd dealt with in the Krath, Lily was a negotiator out of necessity - such was the life of having reigned as the empress of the Empress Teta system for the better part of a decade. She had abdicated the throne recently, to pursue a life without the restraints of royalty in a system held by the Alliance, but she still knew how to play the part of a diplomat. She paid little attention to the rest of the room, focusing on the man that wished to make a deal with the mercenary group she was currently associating herself with, both because she had little concern for their safety and because the attention tended to feed the ego of people who had any modicum of power or wealth.
