Private Envoys and Intrigues

Another guest is arriving shortly. This one from the ancient and once powerful world of Zakuul. I make my way down the steps, holding the folds of my sparkly dress up so that I do not trip. My ring was not forgotten this time and rests on my finger. I cast my eyes about, searching for Eiden. I am certain that he will be around here to spy on me.

But unlike the other day, I do not see him in the lobby. I let out a breath that I am fully unaware that I had even been holding in until now. That man can get me so worked up sometimes! It makes me wonder if he does it all on purpose in order to discredit me.

My guards take up their places behind me. As expected of me, I merely nod my head in acknowledgement of their presence before I revert back to ignoring them completely. They are my silent shadows. Although they are armored and armed as Mandalorians should be. Karlo Kyrr Karlo Kyrr had chosen well!

I open the building's door and step outside as I await the transport to arrive from the pipe above Illic City's biodome. And it is there that I spot Eiden leaning against an adjacent building. I do not narrow my eyes, despite the fact that I truly want to! Instead I react the way that my Mother would. I simply offer him a smile followed by a wink. Perhaps that will throw him off his game!

My attention is diverted as I can hear a transport overhead and I watch as it comes down.

An Arquitens-class command cruiser Had made its way out of Hyperspace once again upon the immediate space Above the planet of New Cov. A shuttle was being prepred for the Envoy and Heir to the growing power in Zakuul Which have already made some friends with nearby planets. The "Dragon's Howl" was the only ship to come out of hyperdrive, as no follow up escort ships followed

The Envoy would eventually enter the shuttle being being prepared for him. The shuttle was of old Imperial Design, Comfortable and sharp looking. An old Lambda T-4a, Refurbished to look brand new.

After gaining the permission from the domes command, The lambda Makes it way down to the surface, and onto a private landing by that would be big enough to fit it, The entire Flight down it was escorted by two(2) ETA-10 Interceptors. While the front hanger doors opened on the shuttle, the two escort fighters would fly of back to the Arquitens. The Arquitens in turn made it way down to the atmosphere

From the open hander doors would be a light amount of smoke and vapor. Clearing it would be the Envoy and a few guards.

The Envoy wore dark noble clothing, representing his planet. Slightly Armored, but sleek, regal, and elegant as befitting his rank and status. Proudly Holstered on the Envoys Belt was A double-bladed lightsaber hilt, Equally as elegant as the rest of the Envoys status

Slight Behand the Envoy would be a droid, steel colored black and grey, with a red hood covering its face and part of its chassis. It would be understood that this droid seemed to be the main part of any bodyguard force the envoy brought

Behind the droid came four (4) Zakuul Royal Guards. Each Equipped with Shield and Lightsaber pikes. Neatly Organized in a 2-2 Square

I straighten up my posture even more as the transport doors open with a hiss. It comes at no surprise to me that the people walking out of an Imperial-class vessel look themselves to be Imperial in nature. That is a part of Zakuul's history, is it not?

My eyes are drawn to the lightsaber and immediately I know what sort of reaction that my ring will have. It will certainly glow. But what color it may be, I do not know, for I lack the ability to see them. I am sure that one of my guards will tell me what color will surface and make me aware of what it means when we are alone once more.

I turn my attention next to the droid companion and the royal guard. All are equally as dark and intimidating as the envoy. However I am trained to not convey my innermost thoughts visually. Instead I smile warmly and dip my head. "Greetings and welcome to New Cov. I am Liin Terallo, Junior Member of NCBC's Board of Directors. I trust that you have had a safe journey here?"

While Zakuul's Past was very authoritarian, Much of that has been changed on the political aspect. However the style of the old imperial like factions did reman much the same. He did come for a few reasons, however one of the larger reasons was to secure trade of the research and biomolecule for the combined alliance of Zakuul and Draconia, As he could see the many uses of this would improve the lives of the people he would eventually take over.

His droid would always be near him as he moved, at most a few feet back unless he stated otherwise. His royal guard did take up standard positions near the opening of the shuttle door.

"My name Is Damion Dorian Envoy of the Draconian Houses, Heir to House Tarkin" As he would move closer to her, her ring would indeed have its glow activated, however it was different. A dark purple color, a mixture of red and blue, However the very edge of the color were marked with a deep blood red.

"I do thank you for your hospitality as I seek trade and political endeavors from such a fine and beautiful people" A trick he liked to use when meeting new people that would be important for the task at hand was flattery. He found it effective to many other and he would think she would be little different. However he never flattered the person directly, only ever speaking about the people they control or the power they hold. He moved with elegance, His works were calm, deep, and sweet upon the ears.

He would give her a slight bow of respect, to respect her power as his hands were clasped behind his back as he moved.

"It is a pleasure, Lord Dorian."

I would of held out my hand for him to shake in whatever manner he sees fit, however both his own are clasped behind his back. So I choose not to. Instead I gesture for him to follow me. "I can show you to your guest apartment if you'd like. Or we could go straight into business over some refreshments."

I glance past him over his shoulder to the place where I had seen Eiden. However the man is not there! No one is. He must be back inside. I can only hope that he is not preparing to ambush this meeting.

We walk into the lobby, my own guards keeping close, but not too close to ruffle any feathers. I then pause and await his answer. My office is up the stairs and his apartment is in another wing of the building.

"While it was a tiring trip and would like some rest, I would be happy getting straight to what I came for if that would be fine enough"
He Would walk close to her, but far enough away to give her the space she would want or need. His droid at a hand motion Did walk a bit further behind the two, His own guards on the other hand stayed with the ship.

Dorian was confident in his droids ability to protect the pair, and if not he knew he could surely pick up the slack should anything happen.

At his request they went to her office that was up the stairs. Of course letting her take full lead in anything at the current moment in time

I reply to him as I lead him up the steps. Some might of prefered a turbo lift, but there is something very dramatic about the stairs. Or so my Mother often says. "I shall try not to keep you for long. Although the refreshments might help you regain some of your energy."

It does not take us long to get to my office. Being a junior member of the Board of Directors means that my office is closer to the lobby which tends to echo within if there are some loud arrivals. But at least the walk is a short one.

I open the door and step inside. Once my guest and his droid companion are in, my own guards stand sentry at the door. Inside of my office is my wooden desk, chairs both at the desk on either side. On the walls are various paintings of flowers and the jungles that I had painted. I am told that the colors are all wrong and do not match. But it all looks right to me and that is all that matters. A sofa sits near a big window and across from that is a side table filled with an assortment of finger foods, wines, ales, teas and cafs. "Please help yourself to anything you would like, Lord Dorian." I certainly would not be offended if he took nothing. Still, I would not mind some wine for myself.

Damion Looked over to the miss colored painting and despite the wild colors in places where the were not meant to be, they had a certain charm to them. The marks and outlines were all perfect, had it not been for the color "Who painted theses?" He kindly asked not trying to be rude about the miss coloring. If it was here that painted them he would simply say "I like them, they look very nice" and would give a polite smile.

The droid would stand by the door on the inside of the office room, Just watching...scanning the room for anything out of place.
"The room is clear Master" The droid finally spoke in its metallic voice
"Good...Can't be to carful" He simply stated taking a small piece of fruit of of the branch after being offered

"Refreshments would regain my energy, but is there something I should regain my energy for?" He asked with a quick wink to her. Just simple flattery once again, but never truly being direct with it. He did follow her lead and took a seat in the appropriate place.

There have not been many that had inquired about my paintings. Yet that is moreso due to the fact that they had been mostly hidden from view. Perhaps my new position has made me a bit bolder?

"If it does not seem entirely impossible; I have painted them. It is a hobby that I used to dabble in when I had some free time. I am glad that they are appreciated, Lord Dorian." Such free time nowadays is sparse. But that is not for the Lord Dorian to know.

I turn my attention to his droid companion as he speaks, now understanding what it had been doing while it remained so silent. I bring about my gaze to my guest. "Oh I certainly agree; one can never be too careful."

As he takes some fruit, I pour myself a glass of wine. I carry it with me to my desk and take a seat. As I cross my feet at the ankles and tuck them underneath my chair, I catch his question followed by the wink. I offer up a small smile at his jest. "For some people, Lord Dorian, they find that negotiations can be exhausting. But you may find that I am not along that line of thinking." I could have jested to him back, yet instead I chose not too. I cannot say that I know him well enough to do so without consequence.

I take a sip of my wine and set the glass upon my desk. Soon after I hit a button on my desk to turn on the holo-display. A hologram of the DNA structure of biomolecules hovers above my desk. "How much do you know of what biomolecules can do, Lord Dorian?"

"What I do know is that the "NCBC" Has created perhaps one of the best products for a great many things. I of course wish to secure trade of it for the purposes of medical medicine, and military's need. Zakuul is growing in jobs related to the navy and army, and Our fellow friends in Draconia have similar needs as well. Of course Zakuul is a rich planet and can pay for any needed ships and trade routes."

He went straight into what he wanted. He hoped that his flattery would at least help her make her decision, or at least make her more cooperative.

Dorian did try to sense her feelings a bit to see how it was going as he spoke, this would help him make his points just a bit better

I dip my head in agreement to his assessment of NCBC. In truth we are the Galaxy's leading developer of biomolecule products. It does help to be centered on the only source, and NCBC is certainly that.

Both medical and military needs are the most common uses for biomolecules that other peoples seem the most interested in. Especially in this day and age with countless wars on an endless cycle. I can only be thankful that war will not arrive here. Instead our battles lie with the monsters in the jungles and the occasional space pirates.

"And how much products would Zakuul and Draconia require? Credits are easy to come by. New technologies are not. What advanced systems would you be willing to share?"

New Cov is a neutral planet sitting in unclaimed space. I can only hope that such a thing will last for my entire lifetime. I would hate to see a customer base cut in half because of one side being at war with the other.

"Dracona Has access many new technologies that could benefit many others, The people can make more homes with the mined steel, for example, And Zakuul has many quite a presence on the droid market"

He would pour himself a small glass of the same wine she had as he spoke, only taking a sip in between the times that she would spoke

"I can fully assure you that any Military's use of these biomolecules with purely be in defense of my people, and never anything else"
He seemed honest as he spoke about what the applications would be used for

"Steel will certainly be useful." I know that there have been some secret projects in the works intigrating biomolecules and various types of stell. Yet it is not my place to talk about those. "And depending on the type and function, some droids may be useful as well."

I do not take a sip of my wine right at this moment. Instead I decide to wait a little longer for I need to be sure that my mind is kept clear.

I dip my chin at the assurance that I am given, knowing full well that the objective of defending one's people is a very broad one at that. Afterall there is a saying which states that the best defence is a good offence. However it is not the Covie's place to judge. Afterall it is highly doubtful that such military uses would be used against us. To threaten our way of life could threaten the cultivation of biomolecules altogether.

That was how I saw it, anyways.

"I would expect nothing less, Lord Dorian. Now what terms are you suggesting in regards to the length of time that such a trade contract would be in use?" Details needed to be refined if I am to bring this to the Board of Directors for a vote.

"Well, I came here hoping that I may be granted a more permanent deal between the respective areas that we represent. However I do understand that maybe it would be difficult to secure that upon our first meeting, so I am prepared to offer a trial period, Say a year or two?" He would motion for his droid to come to the table.

The clanking of the droids feet was soft upon the carpeted area. The droid placed one of its fingers into the tables scomp-links Showing on the holoimages came a large list. Mostly of droids, and Rare resources from the Draconian People "This is just a few of the broader areas that we specialize in"

In the droids tab there were various types of droids. Some labor droids here, a wardroid or two there, and not to forget the many other droids that Zakuul was slowly starting to dominate the markets in. The resource were far less in number, but no less important in terms of the uses they could be used it

"Of course if any customs droids from Zakuul are needed I am more then sure, that I can secure that" The droid walked away from the table and would move back to its place by the door. The lists were saved into the desk so not only did they stay up for her to look at, but they could be brought up later.

"Every deal deserves to have an escape clause for the off chance that it does not work out. A trial period of that length should suffice." The very idea of a contract being permanent sounds daunting on it's own. There are many variables and circumstances that could cause such an arrangement to become a problem for either side.

I maintain my stoic posture as the droid approaches and taps into my holo-display showing a list for me to look over. I do not lean in as most would. That would be a bad habit to form, such as slouching. Maintaining a perfect posture is strictly important. It permeates grace and nobility.

It is not until the droid returns to it's position that I pick up my wine and have a sip. I give Lord Dorian an affirming smile. "I can have a proposal drafted up this evening. Once I have your approval on it, I shall submit it to the Board of Directors for a vote. More often than not, these votes are handled rather quickly." The Board of Directors is a corporate government afterall, and not a democracy. There is far less red tape. However there is just as much infighting and power struggles as any other government body.

One person in particular comes to mind. I loathe every minute that he is near.

"Unless you have anything else to add, I do believe that I can show you to your apartment where you can rest." At least until the vote is concluded. I do not anticipate it taking any longer than tomorrow evening should I get my proposal in on time.

"I don't have anything else to add at all and I would love an escort to my apartment, and I can understand that in many ways, Megacorporation's are better then most standard government bodies, but of course as all things, nothing is perfect, well almost nothing" He took one last sip just before getting up from his seat, His droid quickly making its way to Damion's side

"Shall we?"

Since he was the first of the two of his chair he would hold his hand out to help her off her seat. in his attempt to be a gentlemen, and make more good impressions to the representative

I am quite thankful that there is no complaints about New Cov's political system. From what I have been told about the Galactic Senate, such democracies are very dysfunctional. I raise a brow at his final words. Lord Dorion seems to suggest that there is a perfect form of government out there. I cannot help but be curious as to what that may be.

I turn off my holodisplay, politely taking the offered hand after doing so and then rise to my feet. "Thank you." I collect my wine for the glass is merely half full and round my desk so that I may lead him out of my office. "I am sure that you will find your apartment to be comfortable and well suited for your stay."

As we approach and ascend the next stairwell, I spot Eiden down below. He is certainly up to something and of that I am most confident. Or perhaps he is merely trying to get me paranoid so that I may do something ridiculous. Internally I shudder away my discomfort for the man as I partake in another sip of my wine and focus on the guest walking beside me. "You are of course free to explore the city. However I must stress that you remain within the biodomes. The outside jungles are not very friendly." The last thing that I need is for an important guest to get hurt or die on my watch.

In short order we arrive at the door of his apartment. I open the door and step aside to allow his guard and Lord Dorion to enter first. The apartment is comfortable in Covie standards with multiple rooms including a sitting room, living room, small study, bedroom, bathroom and balcony. "There is a holopad containing our kitchen's menu items. Just select what you wish and our chefs will prepare it for you. Is there anything else that you require, Lord Dorion?"

I could sense your discomfort as we walked into the halls, that is did not quite understand what would cause it, Surely it could not be me otherwise you would have felt this as we spoke, My eyes darted around just a bit before I found the potential source, but it would be rude to let other know I can feel there thoughts in a way. So I did not ask, at least for now

My droid and I did walk into the large and nice apartment, and was blown away by not only the accommodations, but the view as well, The biodome was filled with wonderous sights, that while granted he had seem many similar sights before, but it was no less beautiful.

"I believe all of my accommodations are met to the fullest you can provide them, house Tarkin thanks for for your generous hospitality, I may come here for a vacation or two in the future" He tried to be kind with his words and truly he was thankful, but he was curious about why a man would cause her so much bother...

I give a polite smile and dip my head in acknowledgement of his compliment. I am quite pleased that the apartment meets his requirements. I can only imagine that his droid companion will search for any security threats. I am certain that none will be found. Afterall most of the threats lie on the other side of the domes.

"Then I shall leave you to rest. If you need me, I will be in my office drafting up the proposal. And as promised, I will send it to you for approval. Tomorrow I will meet with the rest of the Board and bring it to them. Have a good evening, Lord Dorian."

I turn to leave his apartment and make my way down the hall. I hesitate for a moment. Should I head straight to my office or to my family's apartment? Afterall there is some advice from them that I can gain before the meeting.

Perhaps I should get the proposal finished first. That will make it easier for Lord Dorian to find me should he need me for anything. And with that in mind, I make my way back to my office, sipping my wine as I do so. Hopefully this does not take very long.

After relaxing for just a bit in the quarters he would gain slight curiosity

"Cole Evacuate the security systems here" His droid would go to one of the many ports to plug into, and would plug it's self in
"Security is high, with latest state of the art systems"
"Can you find a back door...or maybe get into the cameras"
"Evaluating.........Possable to intrude without intervention"
"Do it...I want to know everything"

While Damion was Respectful to all in public, he did want to know everything he could about everyone he met and found important. He did not want to do this for Blackmail purposes, just hypercuriosty of the potential knowledge that could be passed to others, that maybe he was not supposed to know
