Grand Inquisitor of the EOTL

Aculia relaxing in her gardens.
Aculia relaxed for a moment, taking a moment to recline in a comfortable garden chair at the apex of the New Imperial Inquistion headquarters on Ossus. It was a nice, and well-earned, reprieve after years of scrounging around and endless fighting in the Outer Rim under Zonn Geist Zonn Geist It was truly tranquil and beautiful, unlike what many would typically expect of the official place of business of a "Grand Inquisitor". The Force was in true balance here, the Gardens a reflection of the gray philosophy of the Inquisition, equally balanced between dark and light, life and death, much like the location of the library itself which had once been a Sith, then a Jedi, repository of knowledge. The harmony between the two brought a serenity of peace to Aculia's restless soul, torn between idealism and the grim reality of her situation and that of the Empire in general.

But of course all of this is paid for by work, and no doubt soon I will have visitors, or notifications I cannot ignore on my datapad, but for now, I can enjoy a small measure of peace.

A missive would find its way to the Gardens of the Grand Inquisitor, the message was plain and rather simple: the Marquis of Valkan, chairman of the N&Z Umbrella Corporation desired a meeting with the Grand Inquisitor. Though there was nothing within the missive that would state what it was exactly what the man wished to discuss with someone so seemingly far removed from his own interests, the fact that someone such as the one called Tertius C. Nargath wished for a meeting would in itself already be something to heed, it was after all the N&Z that had circumvented the Trade Federation's embargo and which had been openly in support of the Empire of the Lost, despite the fact this inevitably did hurt any chances at business within the Gallactic Alliance. It were his facilities which were now aiding the naval corps of engineers in their quest to create magnificent new ships and weapons for the empire to use and lastly...it was this company, this man's space station that were now standing at the passage of the Chandaar Hypergate. Though no time nor place was asked nor stated, the only thing perfectly clear, was that the Marquis of Valkan was ambitious enough to send word to the Grand Inquisitor's personal space with little reservation... a Sign of ruthless cunning? Or nothing but foolish ambition?

Aculia read the missive delivered to her with a bit of a raised eyebrow, intrigued that a corporation, and not just that but its head, would be requesting to meet with her. If it had been her son, Alasdair, she could understand, given that he had taken over the family military business, but her? Still, it was not like the Inquisition had not contracted corporations before, and the results from Mercetti's holdings had been more than satisfactory. A little digging and an assignment or two for lower ranking Inquisitors to investigate N&Z and this Tertius had revealed they had become somewhat indispensable to the Empire and seemed firmly embedded in it, and were likely seeking to further establish their power and influence across the various branches of the government. Aculia smiled softly as she wrote a reply to the missive. She was fine with them trying to get their claws into her, as long as they realized that went both ways and that once claws embedded themselves in flesh, it was exceedingly painful to remove them.

"Let them in." Aculia intoned sometime later, once the reply had reached Tertius. She did not expect any hostilities today, but she had learned never to let her guard down.

The response to his missive was...perhaps a bit slow, but it was understandable in a sense. After all, he was now dealing with a government division, not just a member of the government in private as had been the case with Karl Von Strauss Karl Von Strauss . This time, he was meeting with a member of the somewhat infamous Voland family, a powerful family that had key positions within the Empire of the Lost and who would either prove to be the Marquis' greatest allies or his greatest opposition... to figure this out, he needed this very meeting. EIther this person leading the Inquisition could become a partner to his own expansion within the empire or she'd become a thorn in his side...there was practically nothing else to it.

Finding himself standing before the building which held the Inquisition's main offices, Tertius; Marquis of Valkan entered it and made note of his appointment, being lead quite solemnly towards some strange place, where once a voice rang through from the other side of a pair of doors, he was allowed entry into what looked like a very well-maintained garden of sorts, completely in contrast to the rest of Ossus as far as the Chairman of the N&Z could remember seeing.

With a bow, the Marquis showed his due respect towards the Head of the Inquisitorius Imperialis, at the very least making sure that he would not be seen as overly arrogant and brazen despite having contacted this woman nearly directly. Though again, considering the position the N&Z Umbrella Corporation was taking within the empire might've been enough to offset this feeling. "My sincere gratitude for accepting my somewhat demanding request to meet you... Lady Voland...or should I adress you by your rank?"
