- Eradicate: The Force Nexus on Credence is an odd, disturbing place that will either grant its visitors the power to rival even the strongest of Jedi or Sith, or will consume them and sentence them to an eternity of disembodied terror in the void. Fortunately for Dayair Laiul, currently known as Kascalion Giedfield, the former was granted upon him in the form of this kyber crystal which holds the power to eradicate, or Eradicate, the entire being and essence of those it kills, essentially erasing them from existence itself. Additionally, injuries inflicted by this crystal physically weaken the victim on a variable scale, depending on how severe the injury sustained is. Survivors have described the feeling as something akin to "a severe energy crash" or "being hit by a dozen tranquilizers," the effects ranging from slower reaction time to completely passing out mid-battle.
- Force Charge: Interestingly, despite the crystal being crafted within the void-like Force Nexus of Credence and imbued with unique "anti-essence" capabilities, the Eradication Crystal can be charged with Force Energy for increased striking power and impact, giving the produced blade a rippling wave appearance and accompanying crackling noise. The more energy used to charge the crystal, the stronger effects it gains, although this comes at the cost of temporarily canceling out the crystal's Eradicate effect and opening it up to the effects of Voidstone. This cancellation can last anywhere from an hour to a few weeks depending on how much energy was used to charge it.
- Physical Impact: Even without undergoing Force Charge, the crystal is still very impactful and has an effective stagger effect upon its targets and can even damage heavily resistant materials such as Beskar.
- Soulbound: As part of the creation process, Dayair Laiul grafted the kyber crystal into his own soul to ensure it remained empowered so long as his own essence still existed within reality. However, this also means that should the crystal be heavily damaged or destroyed, his own soul will be damaged or destroyed as well, creating a great risk whenever he uses it in combat.
- Voidstone: As it was uniquely crafted within a Force Nexus, the Eradication Crystal can be affected by Voidstone like any Force User or Force Imbued gear. The effects of Voidstone on the crystal in its natural state limit the capabilities of its Eradicate ability to where one struck by the produced beam can, in fact, survive completely without their essence being eradicated. When undergoing Force Charge, the crystal becomes fully open to the effects of Voidstone, meaning that should it be exposed to such a thing, not only will the crystal become extremely weak, the cancellation of the Eradicate effect will still be activated for its set time period.
- Force Detectable: Ironically, despite its void inducing capabilities and near anti-Force traits, the Eradication Crystal radiates a radius of emptiness that even Padawans and Apprentices can detect. Charging the crystal with the Force produces the same effect, but on the opposite side of the spectrum, thus ensuring that the crystal can never be snuck around in the presence of Force Users. This incidentally also means that any Lightsaber it is used with can never be hidden or used in surprise attacks against Force Users.
- Kinetics and Sonic: Unless adequately encased within a Lightsaber, the Eradication Crystal is highly susceptible to explosives and shockwave based attacks which can highly damage and possibly even destroy it. Even when encased within a Lightsaber, substantial impact from these types of attacks can still damage it.
Several millennia ago, when Kascalion Giedfield was known to the Galaxy as Dayair Laiul, his sole purpose in life was to slay those who had destroyed his home and his people: the Eldon. Knowing that killing them permanently was not guaranteed on account of their preservative capabilities, the Devil Lion set out to his homeworld of Credence deep in Wild Space near the edge of colonized space to search for anything that could aid him in his endeavors.
Upon sensing the Dark energy of the Nexus, Dayair marched across the molten, harsh landscape and, after exploring and following the beacon of the Nexus for days on end, the Devil Lion came upon the void esque orchard deep underneath the crust of the planet's Cursedlands.
Immediately upon stepping foot into the orchard, the Devil Lion felt a contrasting cold emptiness and burning fullness within him, his bones shivering yet scalding, his muscles freezing yet melting, his blood hardening yet boiling. The orchard made him feel the everything and the nothing of the universe all at once, nearly breaking him down into a sniveling child incapable of more than whimpers and whines as he fell to his knees and nearly falling into one of the numerous "graves" dotted throughout the ground. Only through his inhuman sheer willpower, persistence, and rage, Dayair survived and rose to his feet, mouth foaming and eyes bleeding, gaze locked onto the center of the Nexus where a large white tree awaited him.
With a roar, the Devil Lion charged the tree and thrust his fist into the sappy trunk, his fingers quickly grasping around a solid, burning object within the heart of the tree. Heaving with great exertion, Dayair pulled free from the trunk a black and red crystal that screeched like shattering glass before falling silent under the heavy grasp of its new owner who quickly retreated from the Nexus and returned to his ship.
Upon being applied to the lightsaber dubbed Vuain Sefas, Dayair quickly discovered that the crystal possesses the unique ability to eradicate the essence of whoever it kills when projected into a saber's beam, erasing their very souls from existence. Additionally, injuries sustained from the lightsaber physically weaken the victim on a heightened level. At some point, the kyber crystal was locked away in a hidden vault alongside other items of great import and has only come back into use in recent days upon its rediscovery. Today, the Eradication Crystal is only used on the strongest of opponents and/or those deemed worthy.
