  • Combat Function: The Mawler Fiend Warbands serve as heavy Melee Shock Troops, able to engage in both land and naval engagements, as boarding parties. Their tactics usually are brutally direct, with them unable to comperhand the complexity of an sophisticated strategy. When they are deployed on the battlefield, they are meant to pierce through the enemy formations, or lines, in a brutal charge, oftentimes supported by "Mawler"Tank vehicles and walkers.
    • When under heavy fire, they form huge Shield Wall formations in which they progress towards the enemy in an unbreakable wall, while supressing from above their formations with granade launchers and artillery fire from their mechanized support. Another variation of that tactic is the forming behind "Mawler" tank vehicles, as they advance, providing additional fire while hiding behind the vehicles cover, up until they close in to the enemy enough for a charge.
    • When deployed as boarding parties, they are making excess use of their blades, which are most favoured by their cult, being almost impossible to successfully rid a boarded ship from their troops without damaging the decks, due to their very skilled use of shields.

Strengths:
  • Shield Warriors. The Mawler Warbands are very skilled in the use of Shield Formations and Melee combat, serving as great shock troops when an enemy formation must be breached
  • Morale Killers. When faced with the spiked, ritualistically scarified savage warriors of the Mawler Fiend, any army can only hold so much before its morale diminishes by the brutality of the Warband warriors.
Weaknesses:
  • Rite of Carnage. The Mawler Fiend Cult has tremendous focus on Blood Worship and violence. The Mawler Fiend Warbands are renown for their unability of engaging in warfare without comitting atrocities. Right before the battle, they perform a ritual within their ranks known as the Rite of Carnage, in which they call upon the Dark Side powers of the Mawler Fiend to possess their bodies. This results to the Mawler Fiend Warbands becoming extremely violent during fighting, renown for skull collection, torturing of captured troops and even
  • All Souls for the Mawler Fiend. These Warband warriors tend to turn aggresive even towards allied troops that are in the close proximity, during chaotic engagements (Such as boardings, fortress breaches and any case the lines are not well-defined), being often the cause of friendly casualties, as they make little discrimination between friend or foe, so long there is fight to be had. This forces their Host to deploy them very strategically, allowing them to unleash their fierce wrath upon only enemy units, while the rest allied forces are atleast kept a distance away.

Mawlerite warriors lift the crimson flag of the Athysian League during a planetary Raid (Credit).

The Mawler Warbands hail from the distant moon of Erevos. Nurtured by the cruel, Feral environment, plundged into a world of violence and battle for survival in the very days they gaze the sun for the first time, the Erevosian culture was based on the very primitive instincts of the Mawler Fiend. The moon's Dark Nexus only drove the sanest of minds into utter collapse to madness. In semi-tribal societies, the marauding Erevosian peoples must kill every single day the monsterous, dark side imbued creatures that lurk across the lands in order to feed. By the time the Athysian fleets came, Desmundor Alcademon saw the savagery the planet was engulfed in, and the pointlessness in even trying to change it. Instead, he saw to utilize this great asset, by arming those that accepted him as their Messiah, offering them to sail across the stars and never be deprived again. The Mawlerite nomads that accepted, were armed with a vast arshenal that reflected and served their violent culture. Now, as servants of the Crimson Star Circle, they sail onboard the huge Raider Fleets of the Athysian League, fighting the arch-enemy wherever and whoever that may be, in the name of the Mawler Fiend and the Crimson Star Circle.
