COMBAT INFORMATION
Unit Size: Large
Unit Availability: Common
Unit Experience: Trained
Combat Function: The Army Troopers serve as the Eriadu Authority's rank-and-file ground soldiers and mechanized infantry.

STRENGTHS:
+ Disciplined:
Eriadu Authority Army Troopers are a disciplined, organized fighting force, all willing to give their lives to defend their home.
+ We Have Reserves: The training of Army Troopers is short but intense (ten weeks), allowing them to quickly replace losses.
+ Vehicular Support: Army Troopers can typically expect vehicular support to be available in combat, whether that be tanks or walkers providing covering fire, or airspeeders/starfighters delivering air support.

WEAKNESSES:
- Lightly Armored:
The Army Trooper armor only provides protection to the head, chest, upper arms, and lower legs, leaving the soldiers' limbs mostly exposed.
- Rank-and-File: Eriadu Authority Army Troopers lack the advanced training and specialization of more elite soldiers, and as a result cannot be relied on to perform objectives requiring more specialized skillsets.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Army Troopers are the rank-and-file infantry of the Eriadu Authority, disciplined soldiers who protect their homeworld loyally and selflessly. Potential recruits are selected from citizens meeting the Authority's physical and mental standards, then put through a swift but intense Basic Training lasting around ten weeks at the Maximilian Veers Building located within the expanded Tarkin family compound.

During the first week recruits are drilled in how to march and stand at attention correctly, as well as instructed in the virtues promoted by Vandar Tarkin: loyalty, bravery, and selfless service, not only to the Authority but to each other and to Eriadu. Recruits also learn how to field strip and maintain their standard issue blaster rifles during the first week. The following week contains instruction in unarmed combat and the utilization of maps and maneuvering terrain, followed by obstacle courses and teamwork exercises later in the week. In the third week, recruits are taught melee combat with low-setting electrostaves, stun batons, and rudimentary medical care such as applying backta, improvising splints, and dressing wounds. Recruits are also introduced to their oxygen masks in week 3, instructed on their use, and subjected to a chamber filled with dispersal gas. Recruits are required to remove their masks before they can leave, and are usually made to recite information while they are unmasked such as their name or sentences from the Tarkin Doctrine so that the recruit is forced to be subjected to the effects of the gas while remaining focused.

During week four of Army Trooper training live weapons instruction begins. Recruits use their standard issue weapons to fire at increasingly difficult targets, before graduating to squad support weapons, turrets, grenades, and munitions launchers. In the next week recruits are instructed in the preparation and use of rocket/missile launchers against armored targets such as tanks and walkers, where trainees are instructed on weak points such as engines, repulsors, and leg joints. At this point, recruits are subjected to examination to discover whether they meet the physical standards required of them to continue. Recruits failing to meet the standards are removed from the academy and returned to their homes after undergoing mental wipes to ensure their training insofar cannot be utilized against the Authority.

The final stage of training begins following physical examinations, which involves camping on the Carrion Plateau and field training exercises such as nighttime combat and urban terrain training. Trainees must subsist on ration packs while instructors work to sabotage the recruits to the fullest capacity possible, actively ruining best-laid plots in an attempt to promote improvisation and instill the importance of a Plan Besh. Company rivalries, friendly or otherwise, tend to form at this stage, as companies are often pitted against each other during this stage. Following this is the final week of training, special tactical field training exercise. Trainees must plan and execute the operation on their own, with little to no advising from instructors. Aggression must be utilized, but not blind rage, and recruits should be fearless but not through stupidity. Only once recruits prove that they can intelligently exemplify these soldierly attributes will they be permitted to become official Army Troopers.

While not an elite unit, Army Troopers fulfill a vital role as the rank-and-file infantry of the Eriadu Authority and are not to be underestimated. They serve the Authority in great numbers and are capable of performing intense combat operations, both in urban combat and the wilderness, and are garrisoned across the Seswenna Sector to ensure the protection of those the Authority watches over.
