GENERAL INFORMATION
- Unit Name: Eriadu Marine Raiders
- Affiliation: Eriadu Authority
- Classification: SpecOps
- Description: The Marine Raiders are the most elite of the Eriadu Authority's shipborne infantry. The Raiders don armor resembling the maroon synthmesh armor of their predecessors, and their emblem is that of a stormtrooper helmet on a red diamond, surrounded by five white stars on a blue field. Raiders are hardened professionals, leaving the chatter for the mess hall and bunks.
- Unit Size: Small
- Unit Availability: Rare
- Unit Experience: Elite
- Equipment: Marine Raider BDU, SFR-58 Bozdugan Blaster Rifle, 8-gauge scattergun, C-11 "Nastirci" Combat Knife, D-93 Incinerator Flamethrower (One per squad)
- Combat Function: Marine Raiders excel in direct action, launching smaller-scale assaults on key enemy positions and hardware while letting the larger branches focus on more outright warfare. As one might expect boarding actions are the most common duty of Raiders, one they excel at.
- Like a Foxhound: Marine Raiders thrive in close quarters, both with weapons and unarmed, making them naturally suited for boarding efforts.
- Mynocks: Marine Raiders are able to attach to the hulls of ships, as well as bulkheads, thanks to the magnetic boots in their armor and their armor's oxygen supply.
- Smoke 'Em Out: Each Marine Raider squad has one flamethrower, which can be utilized to devastating effect in the confines of a ship's hallways.
- We're On Our Own Out Here: The missions undertaken by Marine Raiders typically means they will have little in the way of any support, with the exception of the vehicle used to insert them.
- Legs: The upper legs of the Marine Raiders' armor are unarmored, making their legs much more tempting targets than their armored bodies.
- Helmet Seal: If the armor's seal is broken or the helmet's integrity is compromised, the Marine Raiders lose all EVA capabilities
The Eriadu Marine Raiders are the finest of the Authority's Marines, a successor to the legacy of the legendary Galactic Marines. Marine Raiders represent the absolute best of the best of the Navy, equal in status to the Rangers, and their training is just as intensive, resulting in an exceptionally versatile force of hardened soldiers. Raiders are masters of CQB, and thrive in boarding actions. Even among the Authority, the Raiders are renowned for the level of professionalism they operate with: when the helmets go on they're all business, all action and no chatter.
The Marine Raiders don armorplast and synthmesh armor based on that of the Galactic Marines, though often wear it as stark white rather than maroon, and it allows them to operate both in vacuum as well as in areas with environmental hazards due to its airtight seal and internal oxygen reservoir. For weapons, the Raiders use blaster rifles and scatterguns from the Empire, as well as breaching grenades for blowing open sealed blast doors.
Trained all across the Seswenna sector, Marine Raiders are extremely adaptable, the pride of Eriadu's Navy and an elite fighting force. While they thrive in the close quarters of ships, they are capable fighters in any terrain and are more than a match for your average soldier.
