|| HISTORICAL INFORMATION ||
Erik's younger life was of nothing special or noteworthy. However, none of it was good because it eventually led him to a life of crime in his late teens. Drug smuggling and theft eventually turned to murder and kidnapping. With each crime committed, Erik became more and more of a cold-blooded killer. But, he was smart, as well. Smart enough to evade the Republic's police force for years and years. He always stayed several steps ahead of them due to contacts in their organization he acquired through 'fair negotiations'.
Eventually, the Republic fell and the void left behind by them had to be filled. Only people insane enough to attempt to do such a thing were the Imperial Confederation. Yet another Empire aiming to 'clean the Core' and 'establish order'. Erik was not naive. He did not believe this new Imperial faction were strong enough to do what so many have failed to do before. This led to Erik growing more bold. He began to commit his crimes much more publicly and with much more noise. He taunted the Confederation at every turn. It wasn't until his big score that he would meet his foes face to face. There was a large gathering of Republic loyalists who came together to protest against the Confederation and their Imperial ways. Erik hid among the crowd along with some of his enforcers. They awaited resistance from the Imperial's military before he would act. And, just as he predicted, they did. However, they came in much stronger force than he anticipated. So much, in fact, he was forced to retreat.
What Erik did not know, was that everything was an entire staged act. The Republic loyalists, the Imperial reaction, everything just to get him out of hiding. This was something the Imperials were planning since taking control of Coruscant. Erik found himself cornered by the Imperials. Guns from all angles pointed at him. He had nowhere to go. He wanted to fight his way,, potentially leading to a glorious death, but, he had other plans that required him to live. He surrendered himself to the Imperials who took him in for interrogation.
Erik soon found himself imprisoned in a large Imperial gulag known as Vorkuta. A relatively new installation, Vorkuta was one of the Imperial Confederation's largest work camps. Upon arrival, Erik began making a name for himself. He quickly took over one of the largest gangs in the gulag and slowly began digging his claws into the other gangs there until he eventually built a prisoner empire. He soon had all he would need to initiate a prison break.
That was, until, the experiments began.
The Imperials wanted to use Erik for their own purposes. His charisma combined with his intelligence and strength would make him an excellent addition to the Imperial war effort. However, they knew there was nothing they could do to convince him to serve the Empire. So, instead of them convincing him, they would get him to convince himself. The Imperials began planting subliminal messaging around wherever Erik was. Little notes that would turn his own mind against him. Once they felt that Erik was leaning towards the right direction, they took him to solitary confinement where he was forced to live for weeks. In order to build him up how they wanted it, they would need to break him. As he sat in his 3x3 cell, with no windows or any other openings to the outside besides a grate several meters above him, his mind slowly began to deteriorate. In order to sped up the process, the Imperials would play sounds such as babies crying or people screaming in his room. In only a few weeks, Erik was reduced to a shell of his former self. After that, the Imperials enacted Phase 2. Erik was brought to another room where he was forced to watch Imperial propaganda for hours and hours. His former life was soon erased and he was left with nothing but what the Imperials wanted him to believe. The indoctrination process was soon complete. Erik was now just another fiercely loyal Imperial, awaiting to do the Emperor's bidding.
However, this was not the end.
Further experiments had to be done to turn Erik into the weapon the Confederation wanted him to be. Geneticists began experimenting with his DNA in order to implant traits of other species into him without destroying his current genetic structure. Talortai's were a prime candidate due to their rapid regenerative ability. They seemed to be the only genetic code Erik was capable of accepting without an adverse reaction. Many Gurlanin died in order to make Erik what he was now. After the experiments, Erik had to be trained in the art of combat. Mercenaries were pulled from across the galaxy to aid in training Erik. Each one that he came across, he eventually defeated, ravaging them all into pieces one by one. Soon, Erik graduated from his training and returned to his Imperial masters. After proving his loyalty to the Imperial Confederation through several preliminary Imperial operations, Erik was named Commissar and Warden of Vorkuta, his old stomping grounds. From there, he commands the gulag with fierce and cold judgement, ensuring that the prisoners are kept in line and the gulag the greatest of it's kind.
