Eriadu is a terrestrial planet in the Eriadu system of the Seswenna sector in the Outer Rim and is located on the Galactic Frontier. The planet featured mountains as well as jungles and had a black pall. Eriadu's chief industry and export revolves around lommite ore which is abundant on the planet. Eriadu was also the homeworld of the Tarkin family including Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin.

What does any of this have to do with the present day?

There is a rumor that the late Grand Moff had a strongroom, one of several he had across the galaxy. This rumor suggests that Grand Moff Tarkin may have left a cache of valuable artifacts that may still be hidden on the planet. The exact location and nature of the cache is unknown, but it may be of interest to treasure hunters and historians alike. This may not necessarily matter much in the ways of the Force, especially now, but given much of his history, there is a possibility of finding something. If not, it would be a find anyway. The artifacts could be anything from a personal journal to a piece of technology, or even an ancient weapon. They may be the only surviving pieces of Tarkin's legacy, making it even more valuable.

Value depends on the find.

It didn't matter to Connel either way as this was what he signed up for. There was nothing wrong with being a "Guardian", but to him, this was making more of a difference right now. Father had his own way of doing things and he had a reputation for being that Jedi of lore, but this was Connel's path. Thankfully it was Father who said "Go for it!"

He wanted to bring Ryana mina Ryana mina in on this, and knew that a Padawan by the name of Roman Vossari Roman Vossari was expressing interest in learning the ways, but this was not the time. They would have theirs and he would make sure of it. Right now though, he had to focus on the job ahead.

Hunting artifacts and following rumors of the dark side was the core of what a Jedi Shadow is. It felt like ages since she had returned to her roots. Constant infiltration missions, information gouging, and more were draining, and Allyson could feel her resolve wavering. Thankfully, she had found ways to remain grounded. It had been some time since her last mental split, and there was a constant fear that the next was around the corner.

Lost in her thoughts, she pulled a small datapad from her knapsack and scanned through the information she had been given. Tarkin was a name that has been carried throughout history. She had met a few of the Grand Moff's successors in her travels, a few being far from what the man had chosen to do with his life. Thinking hard about it, the Corellian remembered one was a Bantha farmer who had some of the best blue milk she had ever tried. Bantha Farmer was a far stretch from the Grand Moff of the Empire. Allyson chuckled slightly at the thought, even entertained at the thought of future Lockes and where they would end up. Neither she nor John had children, but John had a better chance.

Eriadu was a planet she hadn't set foot on before her knowledge, but there was some familiarity. Memories swirled uncontrolled, but she couldn't correctly place them. Fingers pinched the bridge of her nose as Allyson tried to center herself before her partner showed up.

On cue, as she settled, she sensed the mechanical whirrings of his cybernetics.

"Is it just you and me this time around?" Allyson turned to face him. She had expected the man to bring others—potentially padawans—since this was a good learning mission. While she was disappointed, there was still relief. She knew Connel could handle himself, and the same went for her—not having to wrangle inexperienced padawans made the mission easier.

"So, Tarkin, any reason why the Alliance is particularly interested in this guy's family secrets?"

What?

Pulling the mask off of his head, and letting it hang down the back like a hood, Connel wasn’t expecting this type of a response, but it was what it was. Not this time, I have never been to this planet and I wasn’t going to bring anyone to a planet I couldn’t traverse. They’ll have their time.

It was “The Vanagor” in him, having to protect the innocence of being a Padawan still there. Sure, Ryana was more than skilled and could probably handle missions on her own at this point, but still. Roman would have his day as well. Roman was waiting for his chance to prove himself. Until then, he would remain on the sidelines, watching and learning. He would no doubt be ready when the time came.

Then her comment, or observation, or quip, or whatever it was about Tarkin made him wonder.

My father met him when he was still a Captain. Said he was obsessed with the Jedi and the Force itself. He wasn’t so much in obtaining it, but how to control it. As for why the Alliance would want it? I have no real idea, which concerns me because I don’t want to see us repeat history and have another like him. He didn’t know why they wanted a report on it, and while he didn’t care, he was truthful about caring that they did. He knew that if the Alliance had the ability to control and use the Force(and not in the way that the Jedi do), it could be used to their advantage. He was determined to prevent them from gaining such power. What they would learn would depend on what the two of them would find.

Allyson listened and nodded along with the conversation about Tarkin. The Corellian raised a brow when her mission partner mentioned his father meeting the man. "Your dad?" It was curious, but there were long-lived humanoid species; she just never figured she'd meet another. Though Tarkin's time was long ago, "You're dad a Mirellian?" Allyson asked casually. She had only met one in her lifetime, but the knowledge people like that held was vast.

Rumors had flown about Wyatt's death, but she always questioned it. As a Mirellian, he had lived so long and had seen so much. Losing him to the living Force was almost tragic. A small smile pulled at the corner of her lip; maybe in another lifetime - what had begun would actually blossom. Maybe her life would have been different, and being a Jedi wouldn't have been so hard. "I didn't realize Tarkin was hellbent on getting information on the Force and Jedi. Didn't think many believed in the Force beyond what Vader could do after they wiped out the Order."

Looking up from her steps, she tried to keep the conversation friendly till they had to lock in for the mission at hand. Better to know the guy watching your back than to wonder if he was going to turn on you. "I've never really set foot here either; it always seemed out of my grasp or adjacent to another mission location. You would think that with the planet's history, people would come here more often." Eriadu was a planet that people often looked over; her only claim to fame was the Tarkin family. Still, the landscape and the air's smell reminded her of Corellia before everything went to scrap during the Akala event.

"Once we're done here, it would be a good place to set up a base for information gathering. Feels like there's a lot of open ground and people we can talk to; the only issue and bonus is we're close to Sith space." Allyson shifted uncomfortably, and they were a good bit away from the Alliance border, which meant they would be cut off if anything happened. "Any reports of Sith activity here? I didn't see much in the reports when we were heading in. I think we're close to the safe house by the way, at least we can relax soon and make a plan to find what Tarkin was hiding"

Connel openly laughed at the question about his father. He might as well be. It’s a long story, and “no”, he’s not, but he might as well be… bulletpoints… he was on ice for 850 years… woke up “wrong”... ended up in the Wellspring of life… they “changed” him… and a side effect? 850+ years of knowledge… so yeah… “he might as well be.
2pwZ0kc.jpg
It’s an incredible tool “tone”, if the slightest of inflection on what he had just went through was changed, Connel’s brief synopsis of of his father’s history could be considered “snippy” or “annoyed” or even “frustrated” or “mad” but he wasn’t, not at all. It was a hilarious observation on her part that he had never thought of during the days the two men would joke around with each other. There was a time and a place to tell the story, but now wasn’t it, and he knew it, not that he minded telling the story, just that they had work to do. If you want… I’ll fill in the gaps when we’re done here… cool?

He agreed with everything that she was saying, about the planet, Connel understood what Allyson had said about the planet being “overlooked”, as he had done so himself. One thing he didn’t agree with was her observation of Tarkin, but that was only because he was going by what his father had told him, nothing against what Allyson was saying.

One thing he could answer on was the question about Imperial, and Sith activity. Connel was tapped in with his informant “Tannet” who had buddies on this planet. Absolutely no sign of Sith, or Imperial, or Sith Wannabe on this planet for quite awhile… at least according to my C.I. (Confidential Informant). I know what you mean though, just being here… it bothers me. Vanagor wasn’t sure about how a base would help, maybe “covert”? “Hiding in plain sight”? Either way that wasn’t for him to decide. He was just good with being here.

When she brought up a plan about what Tarkin was hiding, he again nodded. Works for me.
