The EBX-series Super Commando Droid is a well-equipped infiltration unit designed not only to survive engagements with Force users, but win them. Lightsaber-resistant materials deflect and disengage Jedi weapons, while armorplast provides protection from standard blasterfire. To increase their ferocity, Escharum Risk Control modeled the Super Commando's head after that of the ancient Jedi killer General Grievous.

Super Commandos are deployed in squads of four to six and are most commonly used as infiltrators on missions into Jedi or Sith space. Advanced infrared sensors, vocabulators, and comlink arrays enable Super Commandos to conduct a wide variety of special operations. Their size specifications further enable EBXes to don and doff standard trooper armor, a skill that, when combined with dynamic voice modulation, can be used to deceive enemy forces. Subterfuge, search and destroy, asset apprehension, and target elimination are common deployment parameters. They are also used as personal security forces for ranking Confederate officials and military leaders.

Super Commandos are equipped with E-7 blaster rifles, phrik-plated vibroswords, and thermal detonators. Pursuant to their mission, EBXes may also deploy with E-7s sniper rifles or personal energy shields. Additionally, they often utilize protective garments such as tactical ponchos to prevent damage from acid rain on industrial worlds.

The E-7 blaster rifle is a much-needed improvement to the outdated E-5 used by the original Confederacy. Nearly every fault in the original rifle was mitigated in Escharum Risk Control's model, though the use of inexpensive raw materials persists to ensure a maximum cost-production ratio. Like its predecessor, the E-7 can be easily mass produced using simple designs and common materials. This enables virtually any factory to manufacture the E-7 with minimal restructuring of existing equipment.

High modularity of parts and attachments enables users to replace damaged components and customize the E-7 for nearly any combat scenario, respectively. The original droid-centric design was refit to better suit a hybrid droid-trooper Confederate army, where organic soldiers have become more common. Internal heat sinks and a sophisticated waste energy conduit reduces excess heat. The addition of a modern targeting system, buttstock, and ergonomic underbarrel foregrip further enhance the E-7's universal design.

The E-6 blaster carbine is strong baseline blaster in the CIS' military arsenal. Mitigating several of the previous E-5 model's shortcomings, the E-6 is a reliable short- to mid-range carbine designed primarily for use by the Confederacy's new line of B1 battle droids. Its simple design and inexpensive cost-production ratio enables manufacturers to produce the E-6 with relative ease.

A redesign of the carbine's grip makes the E-6 much easier to handle than its predecessor. While it lacks a targeting scope by default, its modular top rail can accommodate a wide variety of short-range scopes. A robust energy monitor regulates internal temperatures, while sophisticated heat sinks help to mitigate excess heat produced by continuous fire.

  • Cuts Like Butter: High-frequency vibrations emanating from the ultrasonic generator increase the blade’s cutting ability, enabling it to cut through some metals.
  • Lightsaber Resistant: The phrik blade can deactivate a lightsaber upon sustaining a direct blow.
o3VvPhU.gif

  • Battery Operated: Ultrasonic generators rely on power cells, which must be replaced when expended and are susceptible to EMP/ION damage.
  • Expensive: Though planets with phrik deposits are near Confederate space, the material is nonetheless very rare and cumbersome to refine.
5AVCN50.gif

X51tpH4.png

Warfare with Force users has become commonplace by 900 ABY, and as such, the necessity for units and equipment that can withstand combat with them is ever increasing. The rediscovery of phrik mines on Tatooine and Gromas has reignited an interest in developing lightsaber-resistant weaponry among weaponsmiths in the Confederacy. Inspired by Baktoid’s phrik electrostaves, Escharum Risk Control has introduced the phrik Commando Droid Vibrosword.

The sword’s ultrasonic generator creates high-frequency vibrations that significantly improve the blade’s lethality and cutting ability. Being forged from phrik enables the blade to not only withstand direct contact with lightsabers, but can also cause them to disengage entirely, leaving Force users vulnerable to attack. This property exists innately in the metal, with or without the generator.

Waning reliance on PMCs resulted in a combined effort to design a new standard combat armor package for Confederate troopers. Raxus-pattern combat armor was designed to be versatile, modular, and highly protective against a variety of weaponry ranging from slugthrowers and blasters, to ion disruptors and even lightsabers.

Escharum Risk Control opted for duraplast armor plating due to the material's abundance and defensive qualities. Mid-level explosions, explosive slugthrower rounds, and even medium laser cannon fire are withstood exceptionally well. Underneath is an armorweave bodyglove that provides troops with effective protection against blasterfire and lightsaber blows.

The robust HUD-2.1 "Acumen" Helmet System equips troopers with a wide range of tactical data, integrated life support, dedicated communications, and reconnaissance capabilities, though the entire suite is susceptible to EMP/ION warfare. While reinforced duraplast can be resistant to such attacks, it is not impervious and can suffer critical failures when impacted.

An impressive trait of Raxus-pattern combat armor is its versatility and modularity. Standard packages are cast in a signature taupe hue, but several variations exist for arctic, jungle, naval, urban, and volcanic environments. Temperature regulators protect Confederate troopers from dangerous elemental exposure, a constant threat during campaigns in the Outer Rim and Wild Space.

Energy Resistant: Shield panels deflect normal blaster fire.
Kinetic Resistant: Durasteel frame is resistant to slugthrowers and other kinetic projectiles.

Lightsaber Weakness: Durasteel can only briefly withstand contact with lightsabers.
Two-Way Street: Wielders can push their blasters through to fire, but this property applies to both sides of the shield.

The Sentinel is a lightweight personal energy shield useful in a multitude of fields ranging from security and crowd control to combat. Its durasteel frame is portable and resistant to kinetic damage, protecting the wielder from slugthrowers and thrown projectiles. It can withstand a modest amount of damage from vibroblades, energy pikes, and even lightsabers, though the latter can cut rather easily through the shield's frame.

An integrated portable shield generator designed by Maji Ironworks fills the frame with deflector shield panels that deflect blaster fire and explosive impacts, provided they are not moving slow enough to pass through. Blasters and other weapons can be pushed through the shield, enabling the wielder to fire from behind it. This unfortunately goes both ways, however. Keeping enemy forces away from the shield is ideal.

In Confederate space where crime syndicates and foreign intelligence agencies are a constant threat, the Sentinel personal energy shield has become an increasingly necessary tool in penal facilities where these dangerous individuals are housed. The Sentinel is durable enough for combat applications as well, seeing use by defensive forces at a variety of CIS military outposts and orbital stations. Its simple yet effective design enables both organics and battle droids to utilize it, making the Sentinel a well-rounded security solution throughout CIS space.

NfEZDye.png

Inspired by ancient Krath war droids and utilizing Kaleesh warrior training, the IG-110 MagnaGuard is both a formidable and fearsome bodyguard droid used by the CIS. While they are primarily employed by ranking officers and political leaders of the Confederacy, MagnaGuards are also utilized for a variety of missions in the field. MagnaGuards operate best in groups of two to three, working in tandem to protect Confederate personnel or to eliminate high-value targets.

The CIS utilizes a combination of heuristic programming and specialized training to ensure MagnaGuards operate with a robust and effective toolkit of abilities. They are able to learn from combat engagements and make adjustments for future encounters. Much like their predecessors, IG-110s are discouraged from repairing cosmetic damage with the intent of displaying each droid's unique experience level.

With durasteel frames, composite duranium and cortosis-weave armor plates, armorplast reinforcement, and armorweave cloaks, MagnaGuards are extremely durable and can engage opponents ranging from infantry to Force users with dependable lethality. The IG-110 is equipped with a robust selection of equipment, such as the Maji Ironworks telescopic electrostaff, E-7 blaster rifles, and electro-whips. MagnaGuards also possess impressive droid brains that enable them to undertake complex tasks, such as piloting starships or wheel bikes. They are capable of interrogating with the use of torture, capturing or abducting targets, search and destroy operations, point defense, assassination, and other similar directives.

Thanks to a safety net of redundant systems and a secondary photoreceptor located in its chest, a MagnaGuard can continue fighting quite ferociously after losing its limbs and even its head. Magnetized heels help to anchor the MagnaDroid as a defensive tactic to avoid being staggered or toppled. These features, in combination with phrik-alloy electrostaves, make the IG-110 a fierce opponent for Jedi or Sith on the battlefield.

o3VvPhU.gif

  • Cumbersome Reload: While it can hold six grenades, carrying replacement magazines is cumbersome and reloading the Bulldog is time consuming.
  • Expensive: The cost of producing rocket-propelled plasma grenades and reinforced the Bulldog with duravlex to manage them prevents the launcher from being mass-produced.
  • Slow Projectiles: Due to the rocket's sluggish speed, the Bulldog is best used in ambush attacks or when locked onto to slow-moving targets.
5AVCN50.gif

F665jqk.png

The Bulldog RLR-9 is a powerful handheld grenade launcher designed for antipersonnel applications on the battlefield. It's light enough to be carried and fired one-handed thanks to its borrowed ergonomic design from the E-series CIS blaster platform. Thanks to duravlex components, the risk of damage due to overheating is drastically reduced. The Bulldog fires charged proton grenades from a six-round magazine. An integrated targeting systems enables users to lock onto vehicles or weapon emplacements, but it can also be free fired at enemy personnel. The Bulldog's rocket-propelled grenades travel slowly, however, and are best used against unsuspecting organics or slow-moving craft.

Expensive materials resulted in the Bulldog becoming a rarer weapon among Confederate forces, used most often by Super Commando droids, MagnaGuards, and special forces units. Despite this rarity, the Bulldog RLR-9 is still a devastating launcher in the hands of the CIS.

  • Expensive: The cost of producing radiation grenades and lining the RD-5r with agrinium prevents the launcher from being mass-produced.
5AVCN50.gif

WjU5ILh.png

In the late-800s ABY, Merr-Sonn Munitions and its partners developed the menacing RD-5r, a specialized grenade launcher designed to fire radioactive grenades with the intent of dealing maximum damage to organic combatants that had become increasingly overabundant an the era of Imperial cloning programs. The result is a portable, albeit heavy, piece of weaponry that can be used by battle droids or well-protected troopers.

The RD-5r is a heavily modified version of the RD-5 grenade launcher, a mainline weapon in the Confederate arsenal. This new model fires radiation grenades from a 3-round magazine that explode in a 3-meter blast radius, releasing a fast-dissipating cloud of radioactive particles that sickens nearby targets. Duravlex components with internal agrinium lining in the firing chamber protects troopers from exposure to radiation when firing the launcher, though extreme caution is still required both while handling the RD-5r and its ordinance.

Due to the questionable ethics of such a weapon, the RD-5r is considered illegal in most galactic jurisdictions, though it still remains in use by several governments, paramilitaries, and criminal organizations.

  • Bullet Hose: Due to its high fire rate, the Striker runs through its 500-shot cannister quickly.
  • Spray and Pray: Sig is a notoriously inaccurate blaster gas due to its volatility, resulting in high recoil and general inaccuracy in the hands of an untrained trooper.
5AVCN50.gif

n3LuoWw.png

Classified by some as a heavy SMG and others as a light blaster rifle, the DT-60 "Striker" is a deadly piece of weaponry developed by BlasTech Industries in conjunction with Baktoid Armor Workshop and Noba Stellar Industries to address the need for an elite combat blaster for use by CQB units and commandos. Its signature frame incorporates ergonomic redesigns of the E-series blaster platform, ensuring comfortable handling for droids and organic troopers alike.

The Striker blaster rifle trades standard tibanna gas cannisters for sig, a highly volatile alternative with armor piercing capabilities at the expense of long-range accuracy. As such, the Striker is best suited for its namesake: close-quarters strikes in enclosed combat scenarios like breaching. Its impressive fire rate unleashes a volley of blaster bolts that shreds enemy defenses. A lightweight laminoid frame and ergonomic balancing allows the Striker to be carried comfortably with a rifle sling.

5AVCN50.gif

DenU8uI.png

In the hands of spec ops units, commando droids, and even battle droid assassins, the E-7s sniper rifle is a deadly precision weapon used by Confederate forces to oppress the battlefield. Based on the Clone Wars-era E-5s, the new E-7 model follows the same formula of devastating damage at the expense of maneuverability and fire rate. With a gas cartridge size of only 8 shots and high recoil, it is imperative that the shooter is well trained and patient.

To make up for these flaws, the E-7s utilizes a targeting scope and an attached electrobinocular which can be connected to a droid's photoreceptor for greater accuracy. Organic snipers with access to targeting suites in their armor can also make use of this feature.

The E-7s has incredible armor-piercing capabilities thanks to the use of sig gas as opposed to standard tibanna. To circumvent sig's infamous volatility that often compromises accuracy in blasters, the E-7s was designed with a reinforced laminoid frame to better withstand sig combustion. A duravlex firing chamber prevents the weapon from overheating.
