- Nexus Name: Eshan City War Memorial
- Nexus Alignment: Neutral
- Location: Eshan [Planet Sub to follow for this canon world]
- Affiliation: The Echani Compact
- Size: Small
- Strength: Moderate
- Accessibility: This location is well known and prominently displayed in Eshan City. It is open to the public, but with warning caveats posted at all entrances regarding the effects of what they will experience upon entrance. There are regularly stationed medical personnel, consisting of Force Users predominantly, to assist those who are overcome by the strength of the place.
- Description: This War Memorial is situated within a biodome that allows deciduous trees and other warm-weather plants to grow. It consists of a series of external walls shaped in opposing golden ratio sweeps. These walls are ordained with the names of every single person that was killed when the star destroyer was dropped on the city. At the very center is the monument, built of metal reclaimed from the destroyer as a reminder that there are those out there who would see the Echani destroyed.
This nexus contributes and overwhelming sense of loss and sorrow. Many a person that has visited the space has claimed to have felt the lives of those lost slipping away as if it were their own. They've expressed sadness so great they were reduced to blubbering messes requiring a stint at a local medical facility and drug therapy to overcome their feelings. This is true even of those with no connection to what happened at the Nexus itself.
- Monument Walls: These walls are constructed of duracrete with inlays of an Echani Graphite and Lunar Silver alloy. Etched in the inlays are the names of every person who was killed during and as a result of the dropping of the destroyer on Eshan City. Every person is memorialized along with their name.
- The Central Monument: At the center of the two opposing golden radii is the monument, designed to resemble a falling star and made of metal reclaimed from the downed destroyer. It is generally lit up at night.
- The Gardens: Surrounding the monument, and situated within the biodome, is a garden full of a variety of deciduous plants. The effects of the nexus are weakest here, but can still be felt.
In the invasion of Eshan by the forces of the CIS, numerous atrocities occurred. However, the most grievous of all of these was the crashing of a star destroyer into the heart of Eshan City. That destroyer did not only destroy a large portion of the city, but it killed thousands of innocent bystanders who were not participating in the fighting. The massive loss of life was no doubt felt by a great many of those who possessed a strength in the Force, but the real culmination was the creation of a Force Nexus in the very heart of Eshan's capital city. The loss of life was so great that the Force could not contain it in any other way.
In order to memorialize this loss of life, the site of the nexus remained undeveloped until the reign of Queen Niamh Raste was begun. Very early in her tenure she commissioned an Echani design firm to create a design for the site that would not only memorialize the fallen, but serve as a reminder for those who survived. The site of the Nexus was chosen by the Queen because of the prominence of the event and the feelings which the nexus imparts upon those who visit. She even took the opportunity to visit the site herself without the protection of her circlet, allowing the grief and sorrow to wash over her anew for all of those who had been lost.
Construction was begun on the biodome first. The containment facility would allow lush vegetation to grow on the cold planet, and serve as a reminder, and barrier, for those who might enter the place. The outer gardens have the weakest effect, but are meant to remind those who enter that from tragedy new life and hope can spring. They also serve as a pathway to the central monument and the name walls, where the effects of the nexus are strongest. Numerous notices about the potential effects are posted, and medical units are on standby at all times in order to assist those who might be overcome by the nexus.
The choice to use parts of the down ship, shaped as a fallen star, was made based on a desire to remind all that those who would harm them remain at large. The central monument is placed at the convergence of the nexus to keep anyone from entering the strongest point of it, and so it can be regarded from afar.
Etched on the monument itself, in Echani Script, is the following text: "The children of the moon know hardness and hurt, but as the moon always rises, and the moon cycles, so too does life. Remember those who are lost, but live for those who remain."
