APPEARANCE
Long blonde hair with a eyeline-intrusive fringe, Esme tends to be noticed first for her locks, and then for her innocent, doe-eyed appearance. Full of lips, thin in figure and soft in general aesthetic, Esme defies her true character to look the very part of the innocent young one.
BACKSTORY
If there was a middle-class tragedy that could have occurred within the Volcaine family, it happened in Esme's childhood. Bankruptcy, beloved father becoming criminally convicted of fraud, divorce, social ostracization, first love gone bad...you name it, Esme faced it. Yes, even an over the top mother.
Esme fell into a holonet world that gave her a sense of community and belonging. She was quickly pulled into the communities of slicers and technophiles that ran in the darker regions of the holonet. Here she picked up much of the lingo, and skills of her slicer compatriots from the security of her Hapan home.
School grades were kept up, just to avoid the ire of her ever vigilant mother, but she did not apply for the schools of higher learning that her mother wished her to. Instead, Esme applied to the one place that she knew would rile her mother more than anything, the Hapan Royal Academy.
With acceptance to the Royal Academy, Esme found her acerbic yet malleable persona to be of great benefit in ascending the social hierarchy within her class. Another benefit was her latent, untapped Force potential. With Hapes' traditional anti-Jedi attitude, Esme was earmarked early as a possible Jedi insider that could lend herself as a double-agent with the Jedi Order, reporting back to Hapes. As the anti-Jedi leanings faded, Esme's Force sensitivity became a less critical part of her resume.
Working everywhere from Nar Shadda, to Naboo, Esme has experience among aristocracy and the drug-addled modder underworld. Now she finds herself unhappily positioned on a command career path back on Hapes. It is not particularly engaging direction.
