Intent: To provide the Jedi Order with it's own signature starfighter, similar to the old Delta-7 from Episode 2 and the Eta-2 from Episode 3.
Development Thread: N/A
Manufacturer: Kuat Drive Yards
Model: Eta-6 Delta-class Light Starfighter
Affiliation: The Galactic Republic (More specifically the Jedi Order)
Modularity: Moderate
Production: Mass-produced
Material: Durasteel
Description: With the passing of the Darkness, the Jedi Order and Galactic Republic have emerged from the shadow of the Gulag Plague to a new, dangerous galaxy. In these trying times, the Jedi Order have returned to their roots as galactic peacekeepers on a large scale and in doing so are establishing themselves as diplomats, crusaders of the Light and liberators of the oppressed. However, despite their signature robes and weapons, they yet lack a starfighter that identifies them readily.

Kuat Drive Yards was commissioned to make a new starfighter for the Order and answered the call with two variations of the same vessel, which was a combination of the Eta-2 and the Delta-7 - both famous for their use by the Jedi during the Clone Wars.

The two variants, listed below, fulfilled the role of (A.) space superiority fighter and (B.) scout. Both were capable of use as a personal transport for the Jedi in question and featured slight modularity for the Jedi to accommodate their own personal tastes. The astromech droid found in both of the previous fighters is returned to provide support to the pilot. Also returning, however, is the booster ring.

Without the booster ring (a holdover from the both the Delta 7 and the Eta-2), the Eta-6 has no hyperspace capabilities of it's own and must rely on another vessel to provide travel through hyperspace. This allows the fighter to take up far less space on a ship of the line than it otherwise would, as there is no hyperdrive to increase it's size.

Light, maneuverable, decently armed but lightly armored and fast, these vessels are every bit as deadly as their predecessors, and hopefully just as iconic.
