BIOGRAPHY
[SIZE=10pt]Eugen’s fate was sealed the day he was born on Ailon.
To be a warrior.
Not just any warrior, but a proud member of the illustrious Nova Guard. This was the future for every able-bodied male of the Ailon species, drilled in all aspects of warfare from the time they could walk, until they were indoctrinated to revere war like a religious experience.
After an initial boot camp on Ailon, training continued across some of the most inhospitable lands the galaxy had to offer, always provided little in the ways of food or supplies. An intentional choice, to encourage the development of problem solving and flexibility in the face of enormous stress and hazards. Only the fittest were meant to survive.
His first kill came as a small youngling, slaying a nimble rodent for its meat and pelt.
The second came putting down another half-starved aspirant trying to steal it.
After surviving his trials abroad, Eugen was able to return to Ailon as a recruit, a fully instated member of the Nova Guard. Now came the advanced training to turn the raw killer into a diciplined soldier, though much of it continued off-world, pitted against low-level thugs and pirates in minor anti-insurgent campaigns, gradually moving up to more serious threats until he was facing other professional outfits in great interstellar wars.
From a lowly recruit, he quickly rose through the ranks as he displayed both great individual martial prowess and tactical ability. Among his own, his picked up the nickname “Hornet”, for his love of aggressive lightning fast multi-pronged maneuvers that to the opposition that often appeared like an angry swarm of the eponymous insects.
Today the Eugen stands as an accomplished Colonel within the Guard, but he is far from satisfied. There are always new heights to climb. Somebody else to shoot.
Fortunately, it’s a time of chaos, where there is no shortage of opportunities for the mercenary.
