Event Idea: Relic Hunt

So, we're about to get a monopoly on the Dark Side capitol of the Galaxy, and I couldn't be more pleased with how it's going. But I feel like this is the perfect time, then, to not let up but rather push forwards with the events we do and establish ourselves as a major power in the Galaxy.

What's the best way to do that? More members, more events, and events that draw in more members - and I think that the perfect way to do that is an open artifact hunting thread.

Where: The Gunninga Gap, a mysterious locale in the far reaches of the Galaxy, home to the death cult of the Knell of Muspilli and filled with Drifting Moon Trees.

What: The Lords and Knights shepherd the Acolytes through various locales in the Gap as we search for artifacts, gathering fragments of the destroyed, mysterious Taurannik Codex to unlock its sorcerous knowledge for the Ascendancy.

Why: Something that works for both new members and old, an active thread that would be inviting to all and give the opportunity for everyone to pitch in as we try to reassemble the book.

This idea was originally PM'd back and forth with [member="The Slave"] (not gonna get away from RPing with me), but I felt like it was too fun an opportunity to not get everyone involved.

So, any chance on getting the [member="Vrak Nashar"] stamp of approval for after the Dominion?

I really want everyone to create their own stories within the faction and threads like this are a fantastic start to that. Love it.

Well, it turns out the Codex has a bit of its own Chaos history. The location and circumstances of the specific thing may change, but I still will be keeping the broad idea the same, and making the whole thing clear in the introductory post.

Worst-case scenario – or is it – you can write your own story about a completely new kind of artifact. Develop it, explore it, have fun, then sub your cool new creation and make something completely unique.

Even got a special jacket from it.

So if you guys really want to fight this beast again, which I remind you towers over any building you can think of and was throwing them like a child's toy, then you are going to need more than Just two or three Masters and a few knights and padawans.

Yeah, I was somewhat aware that it was used before, but I'm only now really coming aware of the sheer scale to which it has been utilized.

We are not going to be fighting a god... right away. We don't even really have a reason to. This will just put the option on the table. I don't want to be flippant about crazy poodoo, but even if we don't plan to use it, the sheer fact that the object contains sorceries so dangerous means any Sith faction would want to have possession of it.

EDIT: Likewise, to respect the immense effort which others have placed into their efforts into finding stuff out about the Sorcerers of Rhand, I don't expect one thread to be enough to get all the knowledge we're looking for. I'll be sketching up plans for a series of events.

An entire questline and campaign for different sets of the notes would be interesting.

Ideas for singular threads:
- Raiding Scientific Research Bases for Historical Data
- Searching Ancient Sith Ruins / Academys
- 'Ancient' Dreadnaught found floating in deep space
- Tracking down someone to differentiate from fake and authentic copies.
- Sith style archeology by blasting a massive hole in the center of a city, then rushing to get to a secret vault.
- Raiding Jedi transport for series of the notes they found.
- Establishing a Sith Research division dedicated to finding and understanding ancient artifacts.
- Searching the Underworld for criminal contacts, hoping to find an unlucky philantropist that got his hands on some.

And more I could come up with.

For anyone interested as well, I'll be doing a few threads on finding Ajunta Pall's Holocron. I've established that there should be a holocron key/crystal for unlocking it, and the holocron itself. For anyone interested in finding it with me, feel free to message me! I'd love to set up some threads with new people.
