Ever write a character from a fringe Force tradition?

I'm not talking about 'I make my own path' types. Ever played a character from a fringe tradition? I've played an apostate Fallanassi, some Dathomiri Witches, some Vahla, two Wardens of the Sky, a Blackguard and an Ithorian nature priest, and I've had a lot of fun with them. What else we got running around?

Not really a force tradition, but I've been writing Kiffar for a really long time. One day when my characters begin to dwindle in number I really want to write a traditional Kiffar Tribal, focuses heavily on psychometry and is all about the culture.

Is that relevant or am I babbling?

[member="Alric Kuhn"] - no, that's actually really cool. I find there's a lot of implied traditional Force paths kicking around - heck, yesterday I learned there's a Wookiee path about the best ways to cut Upari Force crystals for various effects. Now THAT is something someone needs to write.

I suppose my Eldorai Forcers would count? Kaida is an Angelii, who are the Eldorai's force-using praetorian guard (focus on elemental powers) and officially seen as warriors of the Goddess Ashira (though Kaida's ironically a nonconformist in a number of ways), Eileithya Saedaris is a Priestess of the state church of Ashira and a healer, Tarissa an Eldorai aristo and zealot. Been fleshing out the Eldorai religion and their use of the Force over a number of threads.

And Sumiko/Naamah are former Atrisian Inquisitors.

[member="Kaida Taldir"] - I love that you and Valiens have invented a whole, culturally rooted Force tradition and played it so consistently. [member="Valik"] and I made the Tashai, but that's all been background noise, and we've never had characters devoted to that tradition.

DON'T..... TEMPT ME....

[member="Adele Adonai"] - let's see, you've done a warden of the sky, a few vahla, a fallanassi, many witches, a Nun of G'aav'aar'oon...

[member="Valiens Nantaris"] - and it's more fleshed out than half the canon sects, too. Always wanted to do something like that. Props.

Anarya's technically a Luka Sene, but that doesn't really count, as she's mostly written as a jedi.

I really don't have any. Hmm. I should change that.

I guess the problem is I don't know enough about some of them, or want to know more about their mindsets before writing one. I know how Jedi and Sith are trained. Not so much for Fallenssaai (Or however it's spelled.)

But the idea of Fringe groups really interest me. Just, admittedly, I know precious little to play one realistically.

Fallanassi are a tricky one. To really know how to write one, you literally need to read 2-4 novels cover to cover. There's a reason only a couple of people on the board have tried it. I tried fleshing out the relevant Wookieepedia articles, but the task was a little much. That said, there's no reason a 'how to write a (insert tradition here)' guide series, IC or OOC, couldn't be a thing.

In the meantime, one starting point would be this list here-

I have written...3. Can't remember their names though... admittedly did not do much with them...

Think I might try to again. What's the group that only uses TK, to the extent of guiding arrows etc? Their outlook is interesting..
