The Sith were the true rulers of the galaxy.
Sadly, as a Sith Academy student, this galactic ruler was flying economy. The trip down the
Manda Merchant Route a long and winding road through the Outer Rim. And, somehow, he'd still had to connect in Mos Eisley.
The young Cathar had planned to read up on Rishi's history, particularly its connection to
Skere Kaan's
Brotherhood of Darkness. The Avian Rishii were, themselves, quite interesting as well. Carnivores, like himself. The Rishii were birds of prey, a fact made all the clearer by their veneration of
a predator. However, the
Galandan seated next to him on the transport turned out to be a
H'kig Witness and so, instead, the boy had been fed religious tracts and what felt like Jedi propaganda minus the Force.
Their inevitable arrival at last supplied a welcome escape from his seat mate. The young cat gave a sigh of relief at that. While he hadn't been able to do the reading that he'd wanted to on the flight here, at least now he could start on his assigned tasks.
Being an academy located on Korriban, there were a number of resources that had to be sourced from off-world. Students, such as himself, were often tasked with a shopping list for a particular planet. Mostly herbs or regeants unique to Rishi's ecosystem that were useful for Sith alchemy, the liver of a
khi'r for
Zal Aditi
, and then
Darth Caedes
wanted him to pick up a copy of
the Vordegan Codex from a library here.
Thousands of libraries across the known cosmos, and apparently the only copy that wasn't checked out was here.
The library on Voss reportedly had a copy that had been checked out to some Jedi named
Matsu Ike
that had been overdue since, like, 844 ABY.
It was tempting to start with the khi'r. The boy could hunt one for himself and then just leave the liver -- which was disappointing. So he might have to hunt a couple of khi'r. But, it was generally considered proper form to start with the named Darth's request first,
then fill the remaining orders.
At least the boy would be able to peruse the library. With luck, he'd find something that would strike his interest. Particularly since he assumed he'd be tasked with returning the book later. Assuming the Dark Lord didn't pull a Matsu on the Rishi copy of the codex.
Making his way inside of the library, the young Cathar made his way toward the librarian. Bowing politely before the desk, the boy raised his head to speak.
"Meow..."
Halting mid-mew, the youth cleared his throat and tried again. Basic this time.
"Pardon me," the young Sith hopeful began.
"My master sent me to inquire about this book," the boy explained, passing over a dataslip that contained the catalog information on the tome.
While the Rishii behind the desk looked up the copy in question, the boy's amber eyes prowled the interior of the library.
Already he spied a section on history. He'd definitely be visiting that section later.
