Private Evil Machine & Forest Gods

The bedridden Togruta coughed pathetically as Ran sat at his bedside and held his hand. He looked up at her with eyelids that were heavy and half closed, and a confused expression on his face. Still, through the force, Ran could tell the elder Togruta was happy not being alone. He squeezed her hand just a little tighter so by his bedside she remained for just a bit longer.

As the elder shut his eyes more completely and began to rest, Ran got up and looked around the room. She was looking for evidence of the "mysterious figures" the other villagers had mentioned. According to the rest of the denizens of the tiny and remote Togruta village, the figures came in the dead of night obscured by shadow but followed by a mechanized hum. Green smoke surrounded their entry into the homes of the persons who were discovered missing when the smoke dissipated.

The only person the figures targeted that hadn't gone missing was the elder resting from his wounds in bed. He was covered in slashes and bruises. He suffered severe effects of smoke inhalation and was having some sort of internal chemical reaction to it. Treatment was beyond the local Shili medicine woman's means, so Ran sent a communicay to the Order for another Jedi, one more experienced in the ways of modern medicine and treatment. She waited, not knowing how close this Jedi was.

As she searched the room Ran stepped on something small and metallic. A pin. She recognized it from its use on flares and some smoke grenades. She held it in the light, scanned it for any trace of the chemical agent that caused the reaction in the elder's body. The datapad processed the information but came up with little and Ran remembered that even in the vast and busy galaxy around them, there were still some mysteries left undiscovered, new inventions made everyday, new goods and evils formed. She hoped she and the Jedi sent could discover the cause of this tragic situation and undo the damage done to this village.

Ran Serys Ran Serys
Objective: Time to heal!

As soon as Shan got a message about a healer being needed, he was off. It had taken him a short while to get there, since he didn't have a ship of his own anymore, but he was able to chart his way to the planet relatively simply and make his way towards the Togruta village. He didn't have any information, so he had made sure to bring as much of his medical kit as he could. Whilst the Force would potentially be able to treat it quite simply, he wanted to be able to get a sample of blood to try and figure out the source of whatever was going on.

He made his way throughout the village, letting the villagers guide him through to the Elder's house, a frown on Shan's face. This reminded him too much of his first mission he had as a Padawan. Back when he purely focused on medicine instead of fighting. Now his healing skill was quite good, but his fighting skills still left plenty to be desired in his eyes. He was good at protecting with Soresu, but he wasn't much of a fighter. From what he had heard, the issues weren't with the water. So it wasn't purely like his first mission at least...

"Ah. Knight Serys. What information do you have so far?"
Polite manners and respect could wait for now. The more time they wasted with niceities, the more the Elder would be in danger. He just lowered his head to Ran for a moment before checking over the Elder, making sure that he was well enough for Shan to be able to take blood from him. It was going to be intriguing to try and figure out what was wrong with the blood before he shook his head in thought.

"You'll be fine, Sir. Don't worry. I'm a Doctor. And a Jedi. Just focus on breathing please."

Once he had gotten what he needed from the man's injuries, Shan prepared to start healing. He had plenty of items to fall back on if he needed to, such as his healing crystal of fire, or his thontiin lightsaber crystal.
