Example Archive Request: Lignan Crystals/Ore

One major downside of trying to know everything was that sometimes the details got lost, and Dantooine's archives were very modest. Due to some recent security concerns, Shule needed a refresher on Lignan -- the crystals, the ore, whether they were the same or different, where they could be found, limitations on their power, and who in the modern age was known to have or use them. Basically anything to do with Lignan.

He submitted his request through Dantooine's holocomm link to the Jedi Academy network, and sat back to wait.

Kian Karr was aboard the Gnost Dural, as was pretty typical these days. It seemed like he spent more time out in the recesses of space then he did on the ground anymore.

"Master Karr, there seems to be an information request coming in from [member="Shule Windspeaker"] on Dantooine." Soli Baris said as she walked over and handed Kian the datapad in her hands.

"Excellent." Kian said smiling and walking over to the console. They were in one of the command centers on board the Gnost Dural, a place where information was readily accessible. It took several minutes for Kian to collect the first round of information and then he turned back to Soli.

"Patch me in."

Within moments Kian saw the image of Master Windspeaker coming into existence before him via the holoprojector.

"Greetings Master Windspeaker." Kian said bowing his head in greeting. "I understand your looking for information regarding Lignan Crystals?"

"Lignan Crystals come from Lignan Ore, a material that is powerful in the darkside of the force. They have a greater cutting power than your typical lightsaber crystals, burning hotter." Kian said relaying the first round of information that came before him on the screen and provided a basic understanding of the crystals.

"Would you like to further refine your request?"

"Yes, thank you, Master Karr, and thank you for the prompt reply. I need to know who has access to Lignan, or is known to use it, and whether the Order has any stored, any that Jedi dissenters or Republic operatives might have access to. It's in regards to an investigation we've been asked to run out here. You mention that the material is powerful in the Dark Side -- I've heard of Darksiders actually using large amounts of Lignan to increase their power in the Force. Is that accurate at all, is there more to it, or am I mixing it up with something else?"

"One moment." Kian said settling down back in front of the command console and bringing up the information he would need to answer the question. There were limitations to what they had on Lignan crystals, but there was still enough information to hopefully answer the questions sufficiently.

"Lignan ore, and therefore the crystals that are made from it, can be found on Sallust through their trade markets, though they are hard to come by. Additionally, they can be harvested from Phaegon III." Kian said and scanned further through the data. After another pause he continued with the next question.

"I'm afraid I see nothing indicating the Order has any on hand. Nor would it be likely that we would keep them. They are usable only by darkside wielders....I know that if the Shadows had come across them, we would have destroyed them."

"As for your final question," Kian said rising back up and crossing his hands behind his back. "Lignan crystals can increase the power of Darkside users if they are in high quantity. There are reports of them being used, in mass, to augment the darkside powers of Sith and Dark Jedi."

"Phaegon...that's in Omega Protectorate territory. So's Sullust, I think. Interesting, and a little disturbing. At least the Protectorate is serious about security. Thank you for looking into it for me, Master Karr. This should help our investigation quite a bit."
