Existing's not a Crime [Dragon School]

Taking a Zambrano as a Padawan was not something that most would have recommended. Especially one that could apparently manifest Kaine Zambrano at any one moment. But Josh had been careful. He had taught him what he could, and had taken precautions to ensure that his interactions with others in places that he could get them alone and harm them should Kaine manifest were limited. All which were approved by the Padawan, of course. Things had been laid out straight away, ensuring he knew what was going on, and having a say in the precautions taken. He seemed to want to keep the others safe as much as the Order did, which was a plus. He understood his situation, which was good, and it made things easier for all of them. His heart ached to limit him so, of course, but... They had been looking into this whole Kaine nonsense. There had to be a way to sever that link. And Josh had no intentions of giving up on Kahlil until they figured out how. He was intent on making sure the kid had a life ahead, one that he alone could dictate.

And they had.

It was something that Josh felt pride in the Padawan for getting past and overcoming. To separate himself from that demon, so to speak, and be able to be his own man. And that in of itself was another step on his path to becoming a Jedi.

Sitting cross-legged within the training rooms of the Rest, the Jedi Master pondered the lesson ahead while waiting for Kahlil to arrive. After coming to them roughly two years ago, Kahlil was probably due for a bit of reflection. A chance to see what he had learned, and knock out the holes in his game. He had come so far thus as it was, but there was always more to learn. He had already claimed his own lightsaber, ironically with the help of one of Josh's own graduates. Which meant that he was good and ready for missions on a full time basis, especially now that the Kaine lock was off, and Josh could train him the way he had been wanting to. No more restrictions, no more chains. Now was where his training truly began.

Two years had come and gone. Two years in the temple of the Silvers, learning how to be a Jedi. Learning how to be truly free. It was ironic really. He spent so much of his time as a Sith who preach freedom only to finally be free of all the chains they had tied to him when he left. And now? Kahlil entered the room [member="Josh Dragonsflame"] had asked him to arrive, his hands clasped behind his back.

"I have arrived, master."

"Good."

Looking him up and down, he nodded his head. He seemed to be doing well. Josh had continued to keep tabs on Kahlil's process since he had broken free of Kaine's control. They didn't know if there could be side effects, or worse, a relapse. But he was more concerned for Kahlil's well-being than anything else. The physical, or psychological effects may not have shown themselves yet. But something of his kind of condition didn't just solve most of the time without some kind of aftermath. Josh wanted to be sure Kahlil really and truly had his own life. For real and true.

"Refresh my memory" He spoke up, then as he would pace left to right. "A tally of your known abilities. I want to go over them, figure out if I've missed anything in the last few years you've been with us. Figure it's a good time to file down any holes in your game. You're progressing well, just wanted to ensure that progress keeps going."
