"I never really liked this planet." Slevin said as he stepped into the dark room, his lips thinning for a moment as he looked at the man tied to the chair.
There was a knife within his hand, the blade flicking forward slightly as he wiped it clean on his trousers. A frown settled on his lips, a hand reaching up to grasp a small metal chain hanging from the ceiling. He pulled the cord, a lightbub flickering into life just above the two of them.
The room they stood in was rundown and broken, though larger than one might have expected. One could easily fit half a dozen people inside without much of a problem. Water leaked from a pipe to the left of the room, the pain upon the walls had long since peeled away, and the air was stale. No windows decorated the room and the floor looked like someone had taken a sledgehammer to it rather recently. There was a rickety table in the corner of the room, looking like it could barely hold it's own weight.
Slevin glanced around for a moment, spotting a speck of blood that had been left upon the floor.
"I always thought it was a tad...indulgent." He stepped out of the room for a second, coming back a moment later with a chair in tow. He placed it on the ground in front of the other man. "I've always thought that this kind of business."
He waved the knife around, pointing between the two of them and then back towards the outside of the room. "Should be kept in the dark."
Slevin frown for a moment as the man in front of him gave him a look of confusion.
"It's not because I think there's shame in it, I don't." The blade came to a rest upon his knee. "It's others people's shame that makes me form of this opinion."
Slevin slowly leaned back in his chair. "Nobody wants to kill in the sun. Nobody wants to kark a prostitute in the open. Nobody wants to indulge where everyone can see. No. They want to hide it. They want to play in the dark. Where their shame is hidden and no one can judge them."
He gave an amused smile.
"A world like this? Where all you do is out in the open? Well...it'll never realize it's full potential. Not really." He gave the man a disappointed shake of his head.
