Expensive Games

The law offices of Hammer & Talon were contacted in due time. After meeting with their client, [member="Jethro Rekali"], they imaged the damage done to his body for the record, every bump and bruise. They hired the best physician the Wookiee city had to offer, a shaman with a name they could not pronounce, but who graciously went by Uwhow. After performing a complete assessment of what had been done to honest galactic adventurer, Jethro Rekali, they proceeded to compile a list of expert witnesses in preparation for a trial, should it occur.

Mr. Hammer drafted a concise complaint, which in not so many words named the defendants as the Silver Jedi Order, the Antarian Rangers, and [member="Valkren Calderon"]. It stated that Mr. Calderon and the Antarian Rangers had violated a number of Wookiee laws concerning how prisoners are to be treated, resulting in a valid abuse of Sapient Rights claim against Mr. Calderon and the Antarian Rangers, along with the Silver Jedi Order under the theory of respondeat superior.

The complaint proceeded to list all the horrors Mr. Rekali had endured at the hands of the Defendants, mental and physical trauma, and culminated in a request for pecuniary damages to the tune of several million credits. He delivered the complaint to the Wookiee civil tribunal that had jurisdiction over their Silver Jedi guests, along with a motion in the relevant criminal tribunal to have Mr. Rekali's confession excluded, all other testimony suppressed, and his case dismissed.

Since the Silver Jedi were essentially refugees, Mr. Hammer was not particularly concerned about jurisdictional reach. So long as the Silver Jedi wanted to remain Wookiee guests, they would no doubt have to abide by Wookiee law.

Mr. Talon, for his part, prepared an incendiary media package, to be released at the slightest pushback from the Defendants.

The incendiary media package proved unnecessary. In due course, thanks to expert legal pressure and innate gumption, not to mention the good faith of the Grandmaster, Jethro Rekali settled down for a relatively short stay in a local prison.

Another satisfied client for Hammer and Talon.
