A handmade cozy with a small built-in heating system to keep a teapot extra warm
Made with love, the cozy was knitted with quite a lot of care. This makes it fairly durable and able to withstand normal wear and tear.
Built in heating system fitted into the tea cozy keeps the teapot (and tea inside) warm for an extended period of time, up to four hours at a time.
No spills! Any tea spilt onto the cozy may damage the heating system and stain the yarn.
The nature of knits makes it some-what prone to snags, the yarn can unravel if damaged.
When tasked to prepare a gift for the Secret Stocking Swap, Daphne was more than happy to rise to the challenge. She spent a day shopping on Randon for a gift, and ended up returning to Kashyyyk with a green porcelain teapot. It was a nice gift, but it wasn't quite enough. Then, an idea struck her... knit an extra special tea cozy!
And so, Daphne got to work crocheting a fitted tea cozy with festive nerf-wool yarn. She was pretty pleased with the result. But then, she was struck with yet another idea. The archivist did a bit of research and fitted the cozy with a small heating system that was normally used in apparel. This would keep the tea extra warm, who wouldn't want that?
The heating system will keep the teapot warm for a period of four hours before shutting off automatically. While the knit was done in a fairly tight stitch and will stand up to normal wear and tear, any snags may detract from the appearance and may cause the cozy to unravel. Any unfortunate spills may stain the cozy or even cause the heating system to break.
At any rate, the extra cozy tea pot is perfect for a spot of afternoon tea (or anytime, really).
