Extra-Galactic Adventures

So, I was playing Mass Effect Andromeda, and it got me thinking, which is of course a terrifying occurrence.

But I was thinking that maybe it would be interesting to do maybe a forum wide event or something where some explorer finds a tiny star-cluster of say.. 50 or so stars outside the galaxy within reasonable distance to travel there after say.. a few weeks or even months. I was thinking of an entire galaxy but I can see that's too ambitious.

But what I was thinking this could be done as, is a few writers could sign up to be DM's, and work cooperatively to build these 50 stars, civilizations, and etc, and have it all secretly approved by the Codex people, and then other players could contact these DM's to go on expeditions, to explore these 50 stars.

What I find so appealing about this is I LOVE to explore in videogames and roleplays, but it kinda takes the fun out of it if I can just know everything I need to know about the planet I'm going to just by searching in the codex long enough. And I think that other people may feel the same, so some actual exploring could be fantastic!

It could also add this kind of 'colony race' for the empires here, as taking control of this isolated cluster could give them a good protective base in the galaxy, or there could even be special artifacts, technology, or specialized worlds that could give something unique to the faction which can only be found by exploring these planets/stars.

Anyway, It's just a concept and I'd love to hear what other people think about it.

Non-canon extragalactic species etc. are currently banned, but these could provide plenty of room to play:

Now that's my kinda thinking.

I don't mind writing looooong jumps (weeks/months to cross) and then if we haven't killed each other off during the cozy phase of the trip, love writing the explorations too.
Keep me in the loop. I'm game.

I think this would be fun and interesting, and as a few planets that are not connected to the galactic arm I think it could be a cluster much like the Lwhekk System. That would probably be a interesting idea that the Admins would be able to swallow. None the less keep me informed cuz I would love to see where this Campaign goes.

There'd be a lot of stuff out of the ordinary with this, primarily the whole secret approval of factory and codex submissions for the civilizations that are native to that cluster, and I think that if they are interested in this event they may bend some rules so we can do it? IDK. We'd probably need a lot of traction first though.
