The lights blare, beaming there white light onto the minimalistic glossy white stage with Jysell front and centre she gives a small to the camera before taping her cue cards on the desk

"Good evening, friends from across the cosmos. I am your host Jysell Bruman and you're watching live on holonet; Eyes on the Core. Where each week I have a one on one interview here at our studios or on the ground with people that matter, asking them questions that matter, from the source the matters the most; you."

~ Intro ~

"This week I have an in-depth interview with the newly elected vice-chancellor of the Galactic Alliance Alicio Organa Alicio Organa , than I bring you a never before seen interview where my team spoke with Krami Zahd, leader of the Red Obsidian Alliance, a heroic insurgent group fighting Dark order tyranny on Shu-Torun recently killed in the line of duty, and finally I will be speaking with the Harish Tinn cofounder of Hands for Corellia a non-profit repairing discarded cybernetics to be reused for those in need."

"Without further ado I would like to formally introduce our first guest, the aforementioned his royal highness Alicio Organa. King and Senator of Alderaan, recently appointed Vice-Chancellor of the Galactic Alliance and Chairman of SELCORE!"

Jysell and the live studio audience cheered. Upon him taking a seat at the news desk Jysell would give him a slight nowing of the head.

Alicio was used to being in the public eye. But never before had the limelight been this bright, before.

He walked on-stage with reserved purpose, a slight, unobtrusive presence despite the roar of applause. The barest hint of a smile touched his face, as he held a hand up in welcome to the studio audience. Despite his modest entrance, and his sharp black suit, the senator exuded warmth, made evident as he walked to his interviewer's desk, and offered to shake her hand.

When he'd first began politics, having a live interview broadcast across the galaxy would have been a mortifying experience. He'd never been one to talk to crowds, much less the masses. But now, with years of experience under his belt? He found the challenge exciting.

"Thank you for inviting me on, Ms. Brumen." He finally sat down, demonstrating unrepentantly proper posture. Old habits die hard. "I appreciate the opportunity."

"The honour is all my highness." Jysell responded with an honest smile

"This is your first live interview on the Holonet post-inauguration to the seat of Vice Chancellor. Have to ask, you feel any different? I speak for many people in the audience when I say I was moved by your inauguration speech made within the senate chambers. The ascension was well deserved with your track record and in lieu of the just commencing conflict with the Sith Empire."

"On that note, you mentioned this briefly at your inauguration but what are your promise to Alliance citizens as this conflict unfolds? I know there's a lot of fear throughout the Alliance with this conflict"

The corner of Alicio's mouth ticked up. Time to ease into things. "Well, I'd first like to thank the Chancellor for appointing me. She's done a lot for the Alliance. It's a monumental task to lead the Assembly, and it's a real honor to ease her burden."

"It... well, most of the change I've noticed so far is the work load, if I'm being honest."
The nobleman crossed his leg over the other. "With the growing tensions around the galaxy, there's always something that needs done. Chancellor Denko-Durren and I are doing the best we can to keep up with it all."

"On that note, you mentioned this briefly at your inauguration but what are your promise to Alliance citizens as this conflict unfolds? I know there's a lot of fear throughout the Alliance with this conflict"

"I think you're right, and I think the people of the Alliance are right; there is a lot to be afraid of, right now." Alicio's face evened out, but the stone-sure look in his eye was unwavering. "The Sith are gathering at the borders, this Dark Empire stabs at our heart, not to mention the raiders and pirates testing our defenses. They look at a bastion of cooperation and freedom that has stood the test of time, and they see a challenge."

"But it isn't all doom and gloom. There is hope."
He didn't quite smile, but the King's face lightened. "The Galactic Alliance is strongest when it's people are united. As long as we stand together, with the full might of a multifaceted band of nations... it'll take more than an army of Sith to break us apart."

"That's my promise. To help us stand together."

Jysell nods along excitedly at the vice-chancellors words. "Well said your highness, fear is the root of of all evil and it's main goal is to quash hope."

"On the note of the invasion, two questions, eith the invasion ongoing down south do you foresee this as part of a larger engagement with the Sith going forward? This being the beginning of something much larger or just another skirmish with these despots and what do you say that these very such engagements with the Sith are a call to further centralize and militarize the alliance?"

Alicio canted his head to the side, thoughtful. Would he say fear was the root of evil? No, he supposed not. But he wasn't going to quibble words on galactic television. Save that kind of philosophic rambling for tea between friends.

"We've made the mistake of underestimating the Sith before, both in history long past, and in recent memory." Alicio crossed his arms. "The Dark Empire caught us by surprise, and before them, the Maw. With that sort of track record, it would be irresponsible of us to make light of the threat the Sith Order represents."

"On that note, we as an Alliance owe it to our member worlds to protect them to the best of our ability. Anything less would be forsaking our promises to them. I don't think anyone in good faith could look at our responses to these existential threats, and deem them excessive, or unnecessary. Not when we have examples like Tython, or Empress Teta, or Coruscant, to learn from."

Alicio's posture opened up again. "I don't want to diminish these kinds of questions. People have a duty to scrutinize their government. But I do believe everything we've done so far has been reasonable. And the moment I don't, I hope the people of the Alliance will trust me to stand up for what's right."
