Description:This was the design that was modified to become the TIE fighter for Ghost Squadron. It started out as a thought project for the man while in a cantina one day. What if the TIE fighter was pushed to its limits? Which components would work best? Admittedly the ship he came up with is in a word, ridiculous. It was never meant for production, but he did decide that it could form the basis for a very potent model of interceptor, this lead to him working on a variation of the design for Fiolette Yvarro. The design based off his was eventually superseded by a refit and update of a previous design Fiolette had utilized. He had offered to train pilots for her a long while back, but had time and again been kept by life from getting the design down on paper.
The design is an amalgamation of elements found on other fighters, but the instantly recognizable wings have a heavy influence from the TIE Interceptor series. In an odd move there is no forward viewport, the inside of the ship utilizing a panoramic display to show the pilot what is going on outside their ship. It is a system he has come to rather enjoy as it provides control over exactly what portion of the battlefield is focused on. Admittedly, it is a dangerous gamble as if the sensors are damaged or otherwise knocked out of comission, the data cannot be gathered, leaving the pilot blind to the outside world. As with most TIE series fighters there are no shields, but this is partly compensated for by the use of a beskar hull and impervium plating over it. The impervium layer is rather thin but the sheer resilience of the metal, while certainly not invulnerable, was added extra measure to give the ship a bit more time in a fight, allowing it to survive in more drawn out engagements.
The ship is not a hit and run combatant in the sense that A-Wings were. The hyperdrive was mostly an afterthought, and is usually utilized out of combat. The ship is very heavily armed, but this comes at the price of all weapons facing forward, and there are no defensive measures present on the fighter outside of the hull, speed, and maneuverability. No chaff or flares, no shields, the greatest advantage is the Phantom 4x jammer paired with an IFF scrambling system. These features were added to offset the exclusion of any shielding systems and do not by any means grant complete sensor invisibility, simply making the craft more difficult to track beyond visual range.
