SPECIAL FEATURES
Strengths:
- Shell Spider Silk Armor. The fibers of shell spider silk generate a bio-electric field, the electromagnetic properties of this field caused blaster bolts and vibroblades to deflect away from the wearer.
- Norris Root Dye (Jacket). The fibers of the suit coat are impregnated with a brilliant red dye that is derived from norris root. As such, the jacket holds up to a blaster bolt or glancing lightsaber blow.
- Baffleweave Lining. The lining of the jacket blocks sensors, masking anything that may be carried on one's person underneath the jacket.
- Light Armor. This will hold up to a glancing blow from a lightsaber. Repeated strikes or prolonged exposure will light the fabric on fire at best and utterly destroy it at worst. Similarly, kinetic damage will tear and damage the garment. This is meant for social events, not mortal combat.
- Limited Area of Coverage (Baffleweave). The baffleweave lining is limited to the jacket itself. The wearer will still be detectable by electronic systems and anything carried outside of the jacket is subject to detection by electronic means.
- Force-Based Perception. Nothing about this suit counteracts Force based methods of sensory perception.
- Vulnerable to Sonic Weapondry.
Fire is the first fashion piece designed by the Nightbrother known as Jorah zos Darnus. As a maleling in Dathomiri culture, it was traditional that Jorah be trained in sewing and acquaint himself in the customs of both cooking and tailoring in order to prepare himself to be a good mate for a Nightsister. Experienced in clothing repair from his time among the men in Mistwalker Village, Jorah found that he enjoyed being able to focus his energies on a creative outlet. After being exposed to offworlder culture, particularly the provocative style of Twi'lek culture on Ryloth, the youth was inspired to try and create something bold and vivid.
As an artistic piece, Fire celebrates the male gender. The broad shoulders and tapered fit of the coat accentuate the male figure. The norris root dye imparts a brilliant crimson luster to the fabric, contrasted by the black accents. The neck blends into the torso with an inverted triangular design that accentuates the power of the male torso. Clasps are ornamental flex-bronze overlaid in a gold-finished chromium for a stylish touch that commands attention. This is not the attire of a mere maleling servant, but a mantle of authority that bestows upon the wear the ability to command attention. All dangerous ideas in the head of an impressionable young artist trapped in the gender stereotypes of Dathomiri culture.
Perhaps for that reason, upon completion, Fire was put up for auction as part of a Winter Fete event that took place within the Confederacy of Independent Systems in 858 ABY.
