Face vs Galen

Our combatants find themselves in a simple practice arena. There are no crowds of cheering spectators, and no obstacles either. The arena is free of any distractions. Today, there is only the fight.

The arena is circular, twenty meters wide. A waist-high duracrete barrier surrounds it. Being thrown out of the arena does not count as a loss, but leaving it voluntarily will be taken as surrender. It's reasonably well lit, with the lights adjusted so as not to shine in the fighters' eyes.

The floor is smooth dirt, packed tightly by centuries of feet treading the same ground. It's slightly uneven, but not enough to really throw off footing. Combatants need not worry about anything but the fight.

The fighters will enter from opposite sides. The fight will go on until either one or both fighters is dead or incapacitated, a fighter surrenders either verbally or by leaving the ring, or time runs out.

Good luck, and may the Force be with you.

For this particular match, Galen had opted against wearing the full suit of armor he often used to train, instead selecting only a pair of duraplast bracers that extended from wrist to elbow, and leaving his torso bare. His legs were covered only by an appropriately loose pair of black pants, allowing full range of motion without being so baggy as to get in the way. His feet were also bare, and his only other adornment was the blindfold tied around his eyes, or what would have been his eyes had he been human. As a Miraluka, the covering served only to ease the sensibilities of others.

He carried a scabbard in each hand, in which rested his matching pair of blades, and knelt to place them on the ground at the halfway point to the ring's center. That done, he stood and finished his walk to the center, awaiting the arrival of his opponent.

((Sorry about the delay. I'm assuming this is a pure melee match with no offensive use of FU powers.))

Face entered the arena in a medium set of Beskar armor (sans the rocket pack and mounted weaponry), sporting the blues and greys of the Death Watch. In her hands she carried a vibro-lance, handling it like a spear. On her left side was a scabbard beskar sword as her secondary.

Behind her visor, her ice blue eyes flickered up and down as she was sizing up her opponent. In contrast to her armored form, he was practically naked. She noted the covering around his eyes, assuming he was some sort of Force User. That's the only type of person she could imagine crazy enough to step forth against the likes of a Mandalorian super-commando in some sweats. This was going to be an interesting encounter for sure.

Preparing to engage with the man, she titled her lance toward his direction in a defensive posture, shifting her body sideways to present less of her body for attack.

An armored opponent then? Interesting. He would likely be the quicker of the two, owing to the almost nonexistent excess weight he carried, while she would be vastly more durable in her armor. He did find it curious that the only weapons she carried were melee centric, however. Those that wore this particular brand of armor were usually adorned with more firepower than most small militias. Perhaps she was simply exceptionally skilled with a blade and merely wished to meet a challenge, as was the case with Galen himself.

In any event, he remained where he was as she advanced and took her stance, scarcely six meters between them now.

"Would you like to begin or shall I? You seem to be more prepared for it, and you certainly have the range advantage."

Not entirely true. If he was so inclined, he could reach out with his mind and grip her head and shoulders, wrenching each in a different direction before she could close the distance to threaten him, but this was not the place for that sort of ruthless brutality. He was here to test his skill, and achieving victory in that manner would count for nothing in that regard.

Though he couldn't help but think she should have brought a gun.

[member="Face"] has withdrawn from the tournament.

I'm trying to find a replacement, but if that doesn't work, [member="Galen"] will advance by default.

PS: This is Eralam. Wrong account.

As noted, [member="Galen"] will advance due to his opponent's withdrawal. That's a shame because this looked to have the makings of a good fight. Interesting mix of armor and weaponry, and both of you seem to have a good grasp of what you are doing.

[member="Face"] is welcome back in the GBA for future matches. I'd love to see what you can do when you've got the time to commit to a duel.
