Hey Everyone,
So, I've been in talks with my faction staff over the last couple days about the overall look and feel of the Faction page. It's good for what it is, but I believe that when we go about and update our Information and resources section, our header image and several other select pieces of art should be updated as well. Thus, I've turned to the community, and those of you that are skilled in the wizarding ways of photoshop, to propose a little contest.
If you're up for it, I'd like to see what you - as the artist - believe best represents the Alliance as a whole. From our Heroic Jedi to the Brave NPC's that lay down their lives, and so on and so forth. After several banners, and header images have been submitted - I'll be tossing up a poll from which our entire community is welcome to vote on and decide which images would be uploaded to our faction's forum. Meaning that the winner's hard work and artistic freedom will be on display for any interested party that joins our Alliance or looks at the homepage. (Yes, you will be credited, and links to the original .png file will be cited.)
As to what header images I'm looking for?
The Faction Banner: There is no text requirement, nor image demand. Here, feel free to utilize any images you believe fits the overall idea of the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances and the diversity that we try to emulate. (I believe that the dimensions are anywhere between 150x1500 to 200x2000 pixels to fill that blank space at the top.)
New Jedi Order Armoury: There is not text requirement, but the image demand will be centered around the Jedi as to fit the general thematic feel of that topic.
Galactic Alliance Defence Fleet: There is no text requirement, but the image demand will be geared towards the diverse selection of warships at our Navy's disposal. The only restriction I'd like to see in this regard is no notable Imperial vessels.
Galactic Alliance Armed Forces: There's no text requirement, but the only images I'd request not to be used would be notable Imperial Army/Stormtrooper photos. Feel free to utilize any pictures you may find from the Halo or Mass Effect universe that you'd believe would fit the bill.
As you can imagine these header images (Minus the faction banner) will be used in the soon to be updated manifest section(s) of our information and resources thread, and should roughly be around 800 x 150 (or so) pixels, so they don't break the page.
From there, if you felt like earning yourself a badass seal of approval, I'd also welcome alternate versions of our current Post header banners. Here's a link for reference.
Finally, we get to the juicy portion of this contest/announcement! My faction staff and I will be downsizing the site-wide Member of the Month and making it for our Faction. So, while we're three days into October, I'll be accepting any nominations by PM from the community to recognize that special someone who's put their time and effort into making the Alliance excellent and deserves to be recognized. Come the first of November; we'll have our first Member of the Month, and there will be much rejoicing. Yay!
