Faction Idea: Faceless Men

So like 99% of people who own televisons, I have a huge obsession with Game of Thrones, and after contemplating the idea of making a faction but not wanting to make something that had already been done on the forum, the Faceless Men came into my mind because they may be kind of creepy and at times annoyingly secretive, but who could deny that they're badass?

Then I got thinking, because I'd noticed that putting Game of Thrones into Star Wars seemed pretty popular on this site, and Force-using Faceless Men just started seeming like an awesome faction.

Has anyone had this idea already? If not, what does everyone think? Please let me know!

Clawdites are totally a thing. Make a faction of clawdite assassins!

An illusion based faction?

Probably easier to pull off, but you'd be competing with every other FU assassin faction that we currently have.

[member="Krass Wyms"] kind of everything. The idea isn't to simply take the Faceless Men and give them lightsabers (although can you imagine Jaqen H'ghar with a lightsaber? That would be so cool!), it's to use the idea of faceless assassins who train apprentices to create new faces for themselves in a big creepy tomb/house and work in Shaper stuff and Dark Jedi stuff and all sorts of Force poodoo. If you have any ideas though, I'd love to hear them!

That shouldn't be hard to do, because to be honest I think we're all still a little confused about the Faceless Men so it leaves a lot to the imagination, but again if you have ideas, please let me know.

I saw the title, and I got interested, thinking it as a play on people who hide their faces constantly, but interest quickly faded when I learned it didn't apply to me in the slightest.

On a more serious note, anybody who thinks this could work/has ideas on how to make it work please let me know because I haven't got the full idea for how the faction will work.

Not a bad idea but in the high tech world of Star Wars do they really have to be FU Illusionists?

There are dozens of ways to change one's appearance temporarily.

A Face-conforming hypermalleable latex polymer combined with recognition software and some sort of holographic control relay could produce the same effect. I mean, any tech that made it into a Mission Impossible movie could be replicated here with sufficient cleverness.


Now, if you still want to include an esoteric force order as the foundational method, you could utilize the idea that since the force exists in all living things, it can allow for the imitation of all living things by willingly mimicking their spiritual existence in the force. While you use technology to do the Master of Disguise bit, you use the mental and physical disciplines of the force to better imitate your foes. A master of this "Force in all, all in one, one in nothing" discipline can become anyone, or even anything, through rigorous practice. Anyhow, those are my thoughts. Feel free to poke at some of it, I'm just spit-balling here.

After reading all the replies and doing some thinking, I've decided that the Game of Thrones and Star Wars universes are too different for the Faceless Men to work in both. In the galaxy, they would probably only exist as either a myth or a really high-tech version of themselves, neither of which would be likely to make for a faction with particularly interesting RPs.

However, the concept is still a pretty cool one so if I ever come up with a way to merge the Faceless Men with some Star Wars-y other stuff, then the faction may yet come into existence.
