A Light In the Dark
Right now, this is a discussion/ideas thread and to get the ball rolling. Before anything else, I'd like to explain how, ideally, this would work from my point of view.
I would like to create a list of "jobs" that could be done within the faction. People could pick one, two, three, none, whatever, to have as things their characters do within the OSL. These would not be meant to limit the characters in any way. The hope is to expand RP potential, and never to shrink it. The idea would be to help people flesh out what they are doing, and allow others to look at the list and go "Hey, I need someone to teach my character X" or "I have an RP idea and I could really use a Y". As many people can say their character has a job in particular area as they like- there need not be only a single gardener, healer, teacher of defensive fighting, etc. Let's face it, when the person "in charge" of a thing goes AWOL, it leaves a gap. But if there are three people who are "Sanctuary Security" there never has to be a worry that whoever is supposed to be "in charge" is suddenly absent.
Eventually, I'd like to have a thread where the first post includes not only these 'positions' but also the characters who fall under them, to make it easy for someone to take a quick look and find someone for their idea.
Proposed "Jobs" that may be included (but are not limited to):
Medical: Medic, Nurse, Doctor, Force Healer
Sanctuary Personnel: Gardener, Librarian/Archivist, Seneschal, Quarter Master, Security, Maintenance, Transport Pilots, Liasons
Teaching: Force related skills, Non-lethal combat, Civilian skills/retraining (reading/writing, farming, tech skills, piloting, history, whatever), Conflict Resolution/De-Escalation
White Helmet Events (i.e. Going into active war zones): Pilots, Combat Medics, Communications, Sensors, Logistics, Combat Escorts, etc
Rebuilding: Civil Engineers, Construction, Medics, Cargo Pilots, etc
This is probably not how a final list will be organized (Do we really need 'pilot' listed three places? No).
Please add in your two cents, obvious jobs that I have forgotten (I'm sure there are many), or whatever else you'd like to pop in with. We'll combine the ideas that we all have to make something workable for the faction![Smile :) :)](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
