Faction vote on promotions - all please vote

So, we've tried three IC Master promotion votes, and so far they've been...cool, but problematic. Here's the problems:

• IC Master votes take easily 3-5x as long as OOC votes. Our last one took over a month.
• These threads probably distract from other opportunities for community building and, y'know, raids.
• IC votes are fundamentally faction threads that sort of exclude 3/4 of the faction. Not cool.
• IC and OOC opinions aren't always the same thing.

The bottom line is, while these threads have been comprehensive and cool and all, I'm leaning towards suspending IC votes for Master promotions. What are your thoughts?

Not playing a FU at all means that I don't really have a 'dog in this fight', as it were, but the idea of doing an IC promotion thread is awesome, but the points you have brought up are all valid. the idea is awesome, but posting for some people can be hard depending on their status and how much free time they may have when the voting begins.

I think the IC promotions are a really great idea. As a member of other factions that OOC promotions, those always felt a bit off to me, like it wouldn't make sense IC for promotion and that it was for the writer than the character, based on activity and other stuff. Very little of the character's growth seemed to matter, which felt off. I think what we have here works better.

I think the IC promotion is a very cool idea and I liked it. I do however think we should do it OOC just to move that part along. If someone want IC than I say do it afterwards.

I would love to see more raids.
