Factory Judge Call 04/05/14

Notes from the Factory Judge Call for those who were absent:

CONCERNS:
~RPJs jumping on threads which are being discussed and approving them wrongly - Factory Judges should be primary judges.
~Communication between Factory Judges (esp. Tech and Starship) - creation of a starship weapon in tech should be discussed with the starship judges before approval

IDEAS:
~Increasing the maximum length for ships from 2,000m to 3,000m
~Opening up the range of ship weaponry a little bit more, with compensation made elsewhere
~Gunlist/Numbers!
~Exemption rule on personal ships [ship taken +400m with large dev thread to gain control of ship, crew and maintainance(or no maintenance)]
~Companies can make ships over 1000m if they have a dev thread for shipyards (?) [Tier level req'?]
~Make it explicit that you go from one tier to another (eg tier 1-2) rather than, for example, tier 1-4
~Tier 2-3 threads should only be applicable if started after gaining tier 2 etc.
~Minimum level of time to go from tier to tier - dependant on the tier growth. (Longer to go from T4-5 than T2-3)

~Factory Judge Call - Make it frequent!

~Add an "Under Review" prefix - Done

~Make a Factory Judge Forum under Factory Discussion - Done

MARKETPLACE:
~Auction = Good? Helped to promote companies (Frequent Auctions) - Auction Section IN the MP
~Limit amount of products an individual can bid on within a MP Auction

The above are just ideas (save for the concerns, of course) and will require further discussion.

Feel free to use this thread to throw in your two cents or to bring up any concerns, queries or ideas too if you were not present today.

Ooh a new forum.

I disagree with increasing the size limit to 3000m. The primary fighting ship in Star Wars is the Star Destroyer at 1600m. Doing anything more will just promote 'one-upping' and absurdities. Leave it as it is!

I agree with Tamara on this, it's already about bringing the big ships and looking at cannon the main fighting ships were rarely over 1,600m. Anything bigger just isn't economical, why we're already limiting the 'Command Ship' level size to minor production.

As it is people are pulling vast fleets out of their nether regions, the last thing we want is someone showing up with giant 3000m capital ships as a norm.

Keep anything above 2000m to unique rewards or one off specials.
