  • Modularity: No
  • Production: Unique
  • Material: Orbalisk
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Multipurpose
  • Weight: 10 kilograms
  • Resistances:
Blasters: Moderate
Kinetic: Moderate
Lightsabers: Extreme

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Elaborated in Strengths/Weaknesses
STRENGTHS
  • + Defense: Orbalisks are excessively resilient creatures that can withstand a myriad of weaponry with ease.
  • + Overdrive: Orbalisks possess the ability to pump adrenaline directly into the bodies of their host. Should the user manage to exert control over the parasites, this ability can be utilized as a boon to their combat effectiveness. The flood of adrenaline can increase their reflexes, dull pain receptors, and push them to keep fighting despite injury.
WEAKNESSES
  • - Overdose: However, careless application of adrenaline to the body can and will cause excessive damage to the body. In particular, heart attack, stroke, or sudden death are the most common results of oversaturation.
  • - Stealth: Orbalisks are very noticeable, both at a glance and through the Force.
  • - Electricity: Excessive amounts of electricity can prove fatal to an Orbalisk.
  • - Toxin: In the event that an Orbalisk is killed, it injects a deadly toxin into the host that can kill them in mere days.
  • - Spread: Unless donned with additional forms of protection (i.e. helmet/gauntlets) the Orbalisks will eventually spread and overtake the host's body completely.
DESCRIPTION

On one fateful day, a young man invited beasts upon flesh.

The Orbalisk infestation occurring upon Cairyn Midore is a voluntary state of being. In the pursuit of strength were the Dxun-native parasites allowed to occupy the overwhelming majority of his body. From thenceforth, the creatures feed upon the Dark Side within him - but offer a symbiotic relationship in return. Their bodies are near indestructible and provide exceptional protection against the blades of lightsabers or blaster bolts. What's more, they possess the ability to pump adrenaline into the veins of the young man; thereby increasing his combat effectiveness.

However, as with all infestations, there are nasty downsides.

Should any of the Orbalisks fall victim to electricity - one of the few things that can prove fatal - they will attempt to take their host with them. A toxin is directly injected into the body upon their demise, which will kill the host unless grievous healing is provided. What's more, the boon that they offer can also cause an untimely demise. An overdose of adrenaline into the body can cause heart attacks, stroke, or outright death. Yet, these are all consequences that the Gamemaster is more than willing to face.

For his madness knows no bounds.

D I S C L A I M E R
As Cairyn Midore is not Darth Bane, utilizing Orbalisk Armor to become an "unstoppable force" as described on Wookiepedia does not, and will not, apply. Ever.

  • - Limitations: Although the liners provide exceptional defense, they are located exclusively within the torso region of the jacket. As such, the remainder of the jacket is simply leather; and is therefore subject to blades, blasters, etc.
DESCRIPTION

I want...this one, Uncle Isley! - [member="Katrine Van-Derveld"]

With the ravages of war plaguing the Galaxy, it became painfully apparent to Darth Metus that his niece was lacking proper protection. However, while he had been raised by Mandalore - to the point where only full-on beskar'gam was proper protection in his book - Katrine had a sense of fashion. She would not be caught dead in a bulky mass of plates. She certainly wouldn't restrict her agility to do so either.

Therefore, the Sith made a compromise and amended a recent gift he had purchased for her.

At a glance, the Katrine's jacket still retains its flair and flexibility. However, within the torso region of the piece are liners sewn directly into the material. These liners are composed of Duraplast, woven with Cortosis. While the level of the latter material within the liners is miniscule, it is enough to uplift the Duraplast to a level of effective immunity to lightsaber blades. In addition, Duraplast natively provides excellent protection against blaster bolts and other common, battlefield threats.

All in all, Katrine Van-Derveld now has the best of both worlds. Protection without the cost of Aesthetic.

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: Personal Armor for [member="Lady Psyona"]
  • Canon Link: Rhak-skuri
  • Restricted Missions: N/A
  • Primary Source: N/A
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Mandragora | CIS
  • Model: Mk. I
  • Affiliation: Personal
  • Modularity: No
  • Production: Unique
  • Material: Rhak-Skuri Carapice
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Multipurpose
  • Weight: 8 kilograms
  • Resistances:
Blasters: Average
Kinetic: Average
Lightsabers: Average

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Rhak-Skuri Carapace possesses the ability to produce hallucination-causing pheromones.
STRENGTHS
  • + Dream Singer: In life, the average Rhak-Skuri is capable of producing pheromones which induce terrifying hallucinations. This armor produces the same pheromones to a much lesser degree; simply due to the fact that the carapice is not alive. These pheromones dissipate in open air very easily, and therefore are only capable of affecting adversaries within very close proximity of the armor - via inhalation. However, once the pheromones have entered the body, the hallucinations are vivid and often debilitating.
  • + Durability: Rhak-Skuri Carapice is naturally resilient and is capable of withstanding glancing blows from lightsabers, blaster bolts, etc.
WEAKNESSES
  • - Indiscriminate: As the pheromones are effective via inhaling, the wearer is directly exposed to them at all times. If measures are not taken, this will produce hallucinations in the wearer, perpetually.
  • - Airborne: As the concentration of pheromones is meager compared to the live creature, anything greater than a summer breeze poses the risk of blowing the pheromones away from an adversary.
  • - Filtration: The pheromones are not corrosive by any means, and therefore can be filtered out by helm-based systems.
DESCRIPTION

To shatter focus is to claim Victory.

As a result of an ambitious journey, [member="Lady Psyona"] was able to create a rather vicious suit of armor. By harvesting the carapice of a felled Rhak-Skuri did she and her fellow Mandragora weave together this protective measure. At a glance, the primary attribute of the armor is Intimidation. However, drawing close to the wearer reveals its true intent: the shattering of all focus. In death, the carapice of the fallen beast yet retained an ability it had in life: the creation of hallucinogenic pheromones.

However, as the harvest occurred without Alchemy, the pheromones produced are significantly lesser.

As such, the armor excels in excessively close-range combat. The Carapice alone boasts impressive durability - able to withstand glancing blows from lightsabers, blasters, and the like. Furthermore, the pheromones afford the wearer an opportunity to concentrate and muster magicks; as inhaling the pheromones causes vivid hallucinations very quickly. By shattering the focus and center of an opponent can any Mandragora buy herself time to prepare a counterassault. And by wearing the Rhak-Skuri Armor can Lady Psyone achieve victory.
