- Maser Beam - Fires a maser beam carrying a combination kinetic and laser energy, damaging targets through both.
- Cryogenic Beam - Fires a beam of cryogenic particles, frozen to ultra-cold temperatures via force fields and electromagnetics in a process that mimics the Omega Frost effect, albeit significantly downscaled. Under ideal circumstances, these beams are capable of flash-freezing and subsequently, shattering targets.
- Ion Beam - Fires a stream of ionized particles that is effective against electronics and can feasibly overload shields. Often utilized when a target is needed alive, but might also be deployed to drain shields before finishing the target off via another firing module.

- Kill on Sight - Far easier to aim than a traditional weapon, implanted into the organic photoreceptors of a Bio-Organic Nuetralizer, aiming and tracking a target is as easy as looking at them. As such, the weapon is very ideal against fast-moving, agile enemies.
- Armor Breaker - Carrying a one-two punch of raw kinetic force and searing hot plasma energy when set on the maser module, the weapon maintains fantastic penetrating power, especially when a beam is focused on a singular target for the duration of its up to three-second dwell time. It is capable of bisecting most man-sized targets and ferrocrete, allowing the beam to be feasibly lanced through enemy units in the manner of a scythe through grass. Under ideal conditions, the superheated, kinetically-charged beam carries enough energy to bring down rancor-sized targets, almost demanding heavy vehicle armor to fully mitigate its penetrating capabilities. However, even in the event that the beam fails to penetrate, the kinetic force can feasibly knock down or stun targets. When using the other two modules, the Nuetralizer can expect a similar level of destructive potential, albeit wrought via different effects.
- High Fidelity - Possessing a number of vision modules which allow the Nuetralizer to perceive her surroundings in a wide range of environmental conditions and according to the demands of the situation, the eyes can be adapted to see in a variety of visual frequencies and spectrums, making them extremely perceptive, with a degree of anti-stealth capabilities.
- Flash Burn - The photoreceptor possesses a polarizing membrane to protect against bright flashes and to allow it to retain vision capabilities when the beam is being discharged.
- Dependent Power - The organ does not include its own source of power. Should it be severed from the host Nuetralizer’s bio-reactor, it will only be able to fire what is left in the organic capacitor.
- Charged State - Prior to being fired, the organ must be set in a charged state which takes roughly two seconds to build, but can be held indefinitely. However, this state has a visible indicator, in that the Nuetralizer's photoreceptors will emit a strong glow, giving an enemy a small window of opportunity to take evasive or mitigating action prior to the discharge.
- Collateral - Overpenetration can be an issue with the Aethra, increasing the chance of blue-on-blue incidents or damage to friendly and/or civilian assets. In order to avoid this, the power output can be turned down, though there are many situations where this is not practical.
- Alpha Red - Alpha Red toxin can kill the organ, likely causing extreme bleeding, liquefaction, and a host of other deleterious effects.
- Vong Tissue - The Aethra is allergic to Baffor tree pollen, due to it being constructed out of Vong Biot tissue, much like the crab armor worn by the Yuuzhan Vong. Naturally, exposure to this substance can be fatal or deadly to various degrees, for both the organ itself and the Nuetralizer, as well.
Developed in a joint project by First United Astral Engineering and Sword Herald Special Purpose Industries, the FAE/NUO-01 "Aethra" Bio-Organic Maser Photoreceptor is a weaponized organ designed for the Bio-Organic Nuetralizers manufactured by the latter company, for House Io. Utilizing First United Astral Engineering's expertise in energy weaponry and Sword Herald Special Purpose Industries' specialists in Vong-derivative technology, the FAE/NUO-01 was a semi-experimental project from the outset. Nevertheless, the concept received interest from House Io and organs were produced on a very limited basis, to be made available to a select few Bio-Organic Nuetralizers. Much like the ARC Caster Organ, its use can be very easily mistaken for that of a Force-wielder harnessing Deadly Sight or even Force Destruction. However, the organ makes no use of the Force, instead being organic, Vong-derivative technology.
For those Nuetralizers entrusted with the Aethra, it is hoped that the organ will be a vision come to life, depicting the destruction of House Io's many enemies.
