- Black Marlin - The FAE/P-04’s aquatic drives and repulsorjet engines are optimized for aquatic environments. As such, the system allows fast, agile movement, capable of speeds in excess of 80 km/h when dialed at full power while underwater.
- Amphibious - Due to its repulsorjet engines, the FAE/P-04 can also be used in terrestrial environments to strong effect, enabling excellent speed and agility on land and in water.
- Low Profile - The sound-auditory dampening system significantly lowers the FAE/P-04’s acoustic profile in operation. Since sound travels well underwater, this feature, along with the Skuggalegt and Breytast coatings, correspondingly lowers the system’s sensor and sensory profile, making it harder to register and lock onto at range. However, this feature does not offer true stealth capability, since it does not grant true sensor/sensory invisibility or outright block sensors.
- Electronic Control - The FAE/P-04 includes an ECM array, giving the user electronic warfare tools for limited utility, defense, and electronic disruption capabilities in a given battlespace. While it is not nearly as powerful as a starfighter-grade ECM unit due to the size limitations of the host platform, the system allows the user to exert a degree of influence over the electromagnetic environment for a wide range of applications.
- Ultralight - When properly fitted, the FAE/P-04 only covers the upper back and is only slightly protrusive (akin to a miniaturized backpack), making it small and lightweight. As such, it results in very little, if even negligible amounts of encumbrance experienced by the user.
- Jordan Pushed Off - In utilizing repulsorlifts, the FAE/P-04 also has the chief disadvantage of the technology, that being an inability to function without a nearby gravity well as it requires mass to push off of, meaning that it is nonfunctional in deep space. It also goes without saying that the aquatic drives will not work in space or on land, as they must draw water from the surrounding medium to expel as reaction mass.
- Mechanical Mutation - Like any piece of technology, the FAE/P-04 will likely be susceptible to mechu-deru and other technology-twisting powers if left unprotected. A talented practitioner of such esoteric sorceries could induce a jam or some other technological failure that might compromise the system entirely or demand precious time to fix, leaving the user vulnerable.
- Surged - While the FAE/P-04 has some defenses against EMP and Ion attack, if caught within the radius of an electromagnetic discharge, the system could be disabled or otherwise suffer diminished function. If the discharge is powerful enough, it could force a reboot as the system works to de-ionize the electronics, a process which might demand valuable time.
The FAE/P-04 Ultralight Subaquatic Propulsion System is a personal conveyance device optimized and designed for subaquatic environments. To survive the demands of these environments, the system is designed with a number of rust and corrosion-resistant features, including manganese brass casing around sensitive components, anti-corrosion gel treatment, and a rust inhibition system.
For propulsion, the FAE/P-04 system uses repulsorlifts and underwater drives (which use water as a reaction mass) to provide thrust. As these propulsion methods do not generate exhaust heat by design, overheating is of little concern. However, there are cryogenic cylinders to keep electronic components cool during operation. The unit is capable of speeds of up to 80 km/h underwater and up to 250 km/h in terrestrial environments, when dialed at full power.
In terms of secondary features, the FAE/P-04 has magnetic attachment points which can accommodate weapons and other pieces of equipment. Collapsing mirrors allow the device to be downsized for easy transport. An integrated ECM array allows the user to exert influence on the electromagnetic environment. Finally, the FAE/P-04 is a low profile design, with a sound-auditory dampening system and coatings which lower the effective sensor profile, though it does not outright block sensors or scanners.
All in all, the FAE/P-04 Ultralight Subaquatic Propulsion System is hoped to open a new market for personal subaquatic transport offerings, allowing speeds that are faster than even most aquatic-adapted species (Quarren, Mon Calamari, Karkarodons, Etc.) can swim.
