- Float Like a Cadillac… - The Datura’s prowess and agility in the corners is nigh-unmatched. With its prominent, aerodynamics-altering wings, the bike is capable of negotiating tight turns with the speed and grace of a hummingbird.
- Sting Like a Bee! - The Datura has a nice punch out of corners, with good acceleration that allows it to keep pace with more powerful machines, so long as the straight isn’t too long,
- There Goes Pole Position - Lacking engine power, the Datura is quite frankly, terrible off the line, meaning that it is important to put the bike on the front row in qualifying. Even then, the Datura might still suffer.
- When Will It End? - Long straights are truly the bane of the Datura. A low top speed for a racing-optimized vehicle means that the bike is likely to get passed by almost everything else. While helpful in the corners, the Datura's large, vortex-generating wings create more drag than is ideal, acting as another factor to negatively affect the machine’s top speed.
A racing-optimized version of the FAE/V-06 Superswoop, the FAE/R-02 “Datura” Racing Repulsor Bike Mk. II is the counterplay to the FAE/R-01. Where the R-01 is slow, the R-02 is fast and vice versa. In this case, the R-02 is fast in everything tight and technical, sharp angle turns, hairpins, chicanes, and yet more types of racetrack bends. In this, the R-02 is nigh-unmatched. However, while the Datura's handling characteristics are many times better than the Nike, it still remains an extremely difficult bike to ride. It is unstable under high speed braking and necessitates that the rider take an extreme lean angle when negotiating sharp turns turn to maximize cornering speed. Riding it is also a physically demanding activity, as the pilot must shift their body along with the bike. Furthermore, the Datura's powerful V6 engine creates a perpetual risk of losing control as the swoop accelerates out of corners, which can only be minimized by a hypercompetent rider with experience handling the machine.
All of these factors ensure that the bike demands not only a trained professional, but a consummate one, as well.
Nevertheless, a design crafted to dominate the more technical courses on the galactic circuit, the Datura is hoped to prove an agile competitor, capable of dancing through the opposition!
