- Modularity - The FAE/W-13 can take a wide variety of grenade types, allowing the user’s ordnance loadout to be tailored to any given situation. The weapon can also be mounted on shoulder or back-mounted hardpoints.
- Double Blade - Since it goes without saying that grenades explode, a penetrating shot to the weapon’s magazine or any magazines the user might be carrying could very well have catastrophic effects.
- Ammunition Weight - Pound for pound, energy weapons are generally more efficient than kinetic launchers. Unfortunately, the FAE/W-13 is no exception to this. Grenades are larger and heavier than power cells and even bullets, limiting how many can be carried at a time.
- Mechu-deru - Like any piece of technology, the FAE/W-13 is susceptible to Mechu-deru and other technology-twisting powers. A talented practitioner of such esoteric sorceries could induce a jam or some other mechanical failure that might compromise the weapon entirely or demand precious time to fix, leaving the shooter vulnerable.
Designed by First United Astral Engineering, the FAE/W-13 “Sarissa” Grenade Rifle was created to fill the need for an in-house grenade launcher in a handheld form factor. In doing so, the weapon can fire grenades faster and further than what would be possible via hand. The Sarissa brings the benefit of explosive firepower to a squad, enabling similar destructive output to most conventional grenade launchers
All in all, the Sarissa is an dangerous weapon capable of engaging a wide range of targets. It leaves little to chance in its design, favoring reliability and lethality above anything else.
