Fairies and Rogues

Arisa's recent humanitarian work had brought her back to Alliance space for the second time. The first had been her trying to rub shoulders with some of the political types of the GA, but this time around, she was looking to get better acquainted with the GA's military apparatus. It was her hope that both the GA and Silver Order would begin to work more closely together in joint projects, so it was a good idea to get a feel for their organization and warfare doctrine from the inside.

This particular
trip led her down to Sullust, headquarters of the new Rogue Squadron among other things. The elite starfighter squadron intrigued her greatly as a commander who favored long range carriers over brawling battleships. On many occasions, they had been instrumental in seeing the GA come out on top in past battles. She wanted to know the secret of their success.

It started with their X-wings, she discovered as she was given a tour of one by the friendly maintenance crew. Last she had heard, they
had been using the T-70 model, but this new model they has transitioned to using was something she wasn't familiar with at all. It seemed to marry the best features of the T-70 with the StealthX, creating both a nimble and quiet strike craft.

KSA was in the process of parallel development of a similar fighter, but it was still well within the experimental stage, she currently flying one of only a handful of operational prototype models. Rogue maintenance crews had quite a bit of fun trying to poke around with her plane in a
casual investigation, though she wasn't at liberty to discuss all the finer details of its operation.

While meeting with the support staff was nice enough, she had been really looking to meet with some of the pilots, too. They were that other important operational half of the team. So far, none had materialized, much to her dismay. She would linger around the squadron office for a long time in wait for one of them to show, while she started working on squadron commander to get permission to fly one of these X-wings herself.

Allyson wandered down the hallway towards the office of the highest command on the base. She had some paperwork to fill out after the last dominion the faction had accomplished. The girl had a few choice words for the man, knowing that it was his flub when it came to assigning the pilots for that mission. He had made a mistake with her last name and that meant that some old geezer got assigned with her on her X-Wing. Wrinkling her nose she could still smell the old time cologne from the man, it would take weeks to wash it out of the cockpit.

Turning the corner she discovered that there was another woman who seemed to be waiting by the command’s office. Groaning slightly, she rubbed the bridge of her nose trying to reorganize her mind that was full of her to do list. This was going to be longer than she had expected and her fire was starting to smolder knowing that it would be some time before she was able to get into it with command.

Hair in a ponytail, issued aviator sunglasses and the flashy Rogue Squadron bomber jacket, Allyson stood near the Squad Commander and the woman who seemed to be grilling or attempting to convince him to let her fly one of the X-Wings. Allyson tried to keep to herself, the Squad Leader seemed to be able to handle one girl who was probably not even experienced enough to turn the thing on. Shrugging, she hoped he could at least get a date out of it if he finally broke down and let the girl sit in the cockpit. Allyson brushed a stray bang from her face and continued to wait for her turn to get into the door of the commanders. [member="Arisa Yune"]

Mid-conversation, Arisa glanced over in the direction of approaching woman feeling something familiar about her. Much of her face was obscured by giant aviator glasses, so she couldn't quite place her.

She looked like she was trying to pass through into the flight office, so Arisa stepped aside to let her pass through, bringing her conversation with the squadron commander to a pause.

"Locke," he greeted, nodding in acknowledgment as he sidestepped to allow her to enter.

That's when it hit her. At the mention of her surname, Arisa was reminded of an Allyson, some ship captain she had met on Yutan during a recruiting drive for some operatives. Pleasant girl, but their arrangements had fallen through as the then Padawan had to move on to dealing with Mandalorian incursions within Old Republic space.

"Locke? Allyson Locke?" she asked the woman now beside her. Studying her face a little closer, there was no mistaking it.
