THE FALSE CELESTIALS

"Reality is shifting, and the Galaxy is tearing itself apart. From the fringes, banished phantoms and forgotten monsters are peeling away the frayed edges of realspace. A dark parasite is trying to get in, and it wields the power of the Stars themselves."

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Intent: To create a species for a character that claims to be a Celestial, without violating the banned species/technology rules.

GENERAL INFORMATION
Name: False Celestial
Designation: Sentient
Origins: Extra-galactic
Average Lifespan: 1000-1500 years
Estimated Population: Semi-Unique (around 200 surviving members)
Description: A race of pretenders, False Celestials are a humanoid species that have over time altered their physical traits to mimic popular conceptions of Celestials through Galactic history. Many members have horns, wings, or multiple eyes and pairs of limbs. Though unusual, some False Celestials have been known to modify their appearance to look like a shifting mass of eyes, wings, and rotating wheels.

PHYSICAL INFORMATION
Breathes: Type II
Average Height of Adults: 1.8-2.5 metres
Average Length of Adults: 6-10 metre wingspan for winged adults
Skin color: Typical human range, as well as deep red, pink, purple and grey. Most False Celestials are heavily freckled with white, silver or grey spots.
Hair color: As above
Distinctions: False Celestials have similar features to humans, with the following distinctions:

  • Star-freckles - white or black dots appearing like stars (Approx. 85% of population)
  • Feathered wings (approx. 75% of population) - White, black, or grey
  • Coloured sclera (approx. 50% of population) - Black, grey, red or purple
  • Pointed ears (Approx 50% of population) - Medium or long
  • Scaled or feathered legs with hoofed or clawed feet (approx. 20% of population)
  • Multiple pairs of arms (approx. 5% of population)
  • Multiple wing pairs (approx 3% of population)
Races: N/A
Force Sensitivity: All

Strengths:
  • Force sensitivity - All members are Force sensitive
  • Genetic modifications - Many members of the species have modifications and enhancements in their lineage, including wings, horns, or extra limbs
  • Intelligence - Most False Celestials have excellent memories and a knack for learning
  • Long lived - Most members naturally live to 1000-1500 years, though most are killed long before reaching this

Weaknesses:
  • Frail - Tall and lean, with less dense bones and weaker joints and muscles than typical humans. Unable to lift heavy objects or perform great feats of physicality
  • Type II breathing - Due to adaptation to type II atmospheres, False Celestials often have health issues living longterm in Type I atmospheres where most Galactic populations reside
  • Poor eyesight - False Celestials are accustomed to seeing in low-light environments. Many require correction or surgery to see well in brightly lit environments (e.g. room with a light on, sunny day)

CULTURE
Diet: Omnivore, similar dietary preferences to humans, but with larger appetites and faster metabolisms than other humanoids due to size and wings.

Communication: Previously spoke a dedicated False Celestial language, but now all surviving members speak standard Galactic languages.

Technology level: Less than Galactic standard, due to banishment to adopted extra-Galactic homeworld in approximately Xxxx BBY.

Religion/Beliefs: Almost exclusively, False Celestials believe themselves superior to all other sentient life in the Galaxy. They claim to be the last living members of the Celestial race, despite this not being the case. False Celestials believe they are destined to rule the Galaxy and that this destiny is ordained by the stars, which also grant them their affinity for the Force. Having been banished from the Galaxy long ago, surviving memberGenf the species plan to return and conquer or enslave the Galactic population.

General behavior:
False Celestials once had the typical humanoid range of personality types. However, remaining members of the species are characterised by arrogance, disregard of other species, a lack of empathy and manipulative tendencies. The surviving population is highly competitive, and will fight internally over territory and influence.

Prior to their removal from the Galaxy, False Celestials typically lived on their own or in pairs, joining existing multi-species communities and claiming their lineage to the Celestials, often in order to gain positions of religious significance or political power.

Reproduction is a rare event for False Celestials, and the young are often target during conflict to prevent certain groups from gaining too much power. The population has been dwindling since the species’ banishment and they are nearly extinct with fewer than 200 remaining members. False Celestials can breed with human and near human species, however this has not occurred since their banishment.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Despite claims to the contrary, False Celestials have no connection or lineage to the actual Celestials. In reality, they are a near-human offshoot that separated during the time of the Rakatan Infinite Empire. Around 24,000BBY, False Celestials began appearing as community and religious leaders, claiming to be the last Celestials and demanding worship by other sentient species.

In approximately 21,000 BBY, a coalition of sentient species gathered all known False Celestials on Nordra, and exiled the species via hypergate to a lone planetary nebula situated outside the Galaxy. Not all False Celestials were captured in this event, however surviving members in the Galaxy were killed in subsequent years, living only a unsustainable population on their adopted homeworld.

In 902 ABY, the changes to the Galaxy resulting from the Planeshift event allowed the surviving False Celestials a method to reopen the hypergate and return to the Galaxy. The surviving population is bitter and resenting towards the Galactic population, and seeks to reassume their position as worshipped gods for lesser sentients.

Hello!

I will be taking care of your submission today. I have just one item that needs to be covered before we move to approval:
I also have a couple suggestions for you below, which do not have to be fulfilled for approval!
  • In the "Technology Level" category, you wrote "in approximately Xxxx BBY". Pointing this out since it looks like you meant to put a year there!
  • In the "Religion/Beliefs" category, you wrote "Having been banished from the Galaxy long ago, surviving memberGenf the species plan". In case you wanted to correct this passage!
Tag me once these items are complete or if you have any questions. Just to clarify again, the suggestions are wholly optional and do not need to be completed for approval.

Thank you!
